I'm not much of a pampering person, I've only ever had one massage (and I hated it!) and up until a couple of weeks ago I had never had my nails done by anyone but myself! But for my wedding day I decided my nails needed to look good, naturally! So popped down to a salon and got myself some acrylic nails. If you've clicked on here expecting a serious post about my experience with them, you'll be disappointed. Today it's all about fun - please don't take this too seriously!
The Impossible Tasks with Acrylic Nails
Doing up Buttons - If you want to spend 5+ minutes doing your shirt buttons up at 7am, then acrylic nails are for you.
Attaching Paperclips - Once you get to work you'll probably have to use at least 10 paperclips a day. If you don't want to look like the class clown, then acrylic nails aren't for you.
Typing - Typing isn't the most impossible task listed, but if you've gone for length your email may end up looking like this - 'g43i 5y3 d9e3:'
Picking Thing Up - Dropped something small on a flat surface? Prepare for a fight.
Opening Packets - By lunchtime you might be rather hungry and ready to dip into your favourite treats, crisps anyone? Well not unless there's someone else there to help you get into those stubourn packets!
Touch Screens - There is a certain art form to using a touch screen with acrylic nails - well if you actually want to pin the fun nail art instead of the curtain making instructions on the Pinterest app!
Turning Pages - The hands do a lot in a day, many of which we take for granted. But make your nails huge and even simple tasks like turning pages will become frustratingly awkward!
Contact Lenses - And just when you are ready to get some kip, you have to struggle to get your contact lenses out. Be careful guys!
There's plenty more that I've missed, so feel free to add to the list in the comments below. If you have have any magic tips and tricks I'd love to hear those too!
