I'm growing quite a collection of foundations that I love now - maybe embarrassing, but definitely useful as well! I want to say this one has taken the new top spot, but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to make such a bold statement. However this is an absolutely brilliant foundation. Infact I've been quite impressed with Rimmel in general - I haven't tried many of their products in the past, but they really do seem to have some good'uns!
As always I've included a summary at the end :)
These days a lot of foundations come in a bottle with (hopefully!) a pump. This one however comes in a squeezy tube - I've not had a problem with it at all, but I am predicting that it might be a little hard to get the last little bit out! Inside is the standard amount of 30ml - doesn't sound a lot, but I assure you it'll last a good while! This is available in 6 shades all of which are fairly light. I have it in Ivory, which surprisingly I've just discovered is not the lightest shade! Perhaps the first time this has ever happened to me! It claims to be lightweight, blend flawlessly, natural looking as well as giving all day shine control - of of which I'll address in the review! This is available from Boots & Superdrug for £5.99 - currently on offer for £4.49 in Boots & Superdrug.
What did I think?
You already know I love this foundation, now to explain why! The texture of this does feel quite thick at first, but actually it does blend in fine (I use a Real techniques Buffing Brush). Unlike my experience with most foundations I do find that this stays shine free all day even without a primer - very impressive if you ask me, however I do find that I will have a bit of shine towards the end of the day if I don't set it with some kind of powder. I do find that if you rub the face, there will be a little bit of transfer. The finish of this foundation is absolutely stunning as well (again, even without a primer!), it looks flawless and almost as if it's been airbrushed - the coverage is also very good which adds to this effect. All in all I've been super impressed - mainly due to the finish and longevity!
The Good - Cheap, value, beautiful satin finish, stays put all day without giving shine, very good coverage, lives up to the claims (rather unusual to be honest!).
The Not so Good - No deeper shades, does give a little bit of transfer, no SPF (but hopefully that means it'll work well with flash photography, I haven't tried it!).
Would I Repurchase? Absolutely, without a thought! I might get the lighter shade next time as this one is a touch too deep (still wearable though!).
It's not often that I really shout about how amazing products are without listing some drawbacks. There are a couple this time, but honestly I couldn't put into words how good this makes my skin look - just look at the before and after pictures! Have you tried this foundation what do you think?
