I posted a 'What's new on the Highstreet?' around a month ago now. I hadn't decided whether I'd keep it as a permanent feature on my blog, but I had so many really nice comments on how much you liked it, so who would I be to deny you another one! Thanks for all those comments though guys, you're feedback really helps and every single comment puts a big smile on my face! The drugstore seems to be coming up trumps at the moment though there's so many exciting new products hitting the shelves. These aren't reviews as such, but I have included some swatches and first impressions. I hope you enjoy!
Barry M Flawless Matte Finish Foundation - Ivory
I don't seem to be able to resist foundations these days as you'll probably be able to tell from this post! I'm mentioned it a couple of times but I'm on the hunt for the perfect one for my wedding. I do think I'm using that as an excuse really though - I just love trying new ones! This particular one I've heard good things about and wanted to try for myself. It's oil free and promises to be blendable as well as hydrating. This one has no SPF either, so shouldn't cause any flash back problems with pictures!
Bourjois Happy Light Foundation - 50 Porcelain
Of all the foundations I picked up, this is probably the one that is most justifiable! I did recently finish up a Bourjois foundation, so a space has opened up so to speak. I'm a big lover of Bourjois foundations, having not tried one I haven't liked! This one claims to give a luminous and flawless coverage whilst giving hydration to the skin. 'Happy Light' is actually a new line of products from Bourjois and also includes a concealer and two serum foundations (1 matte, 1 luminous). Also notice that this is shade 50 - previously 51 has been the lightest, although I do find this quite yellow toned!
L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint - 100 Porcelain
I haven't heard the best things about this, supposedly it clings to dry patches. I don't have particularly dry skin at the moment though and was more than intrigued by the formula. It's a 'foundation' that's very very light in texture. It comes in a pretty much water like consistency, but once blended it does turn powdery, indeed magical! And very intriguing!
SEVENTEEN Stay Time Upto 25 Hour Foundation - Porcelain
I did tell you I picked up a lot of the new foundations! SEVENTEEN seemed to have turned 'Stay Time' into a new range within their product line. It started a few weeks ago with the release of the Stay Time Primer (which I reviewed a few days ago - link). The claims of this one are totally what I look for - full coverage, long wearing and SPF25. And it does seem to have good coverage, as far as I can tell from applying it to my hand! SEVENTEEN is currently on offer for 3 for £10 at Boots.
SEVENTEEN Stay Time 18 Hour Concealer - Extra Fair
Again another addition to the Stay Time line! And also again it seems to have a pretty good coverage and seems nice and light in texture. I'm hoping this is going to be comparable to the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (which I no longer have) and it's looking promising. I swatched this over some marks on my hand and it does seem to have good coverage. So if it lasts 18 hours like it's claiming, we could be onto a winner.
SEVENTEEN Stay Pout Lip Colour - It's a Kiss Off
Quite often with brands you see previews or hear whispers of new products either on Twitter or on the 'bigger' blogs. But this I had heard absolutely nothing about. Unfortunately in my local Boots, they had no testers, so it was a bit of a lucky dip with the colour. The colour of the bottom made it seem like it would be a red, but actually it's a slightly frosty pink, which isn't really my kind of thing. However it does seem like a good lipstick, creamy and actually stains the lips too - great for long days! It does smell slightly waxy, but that won't put me off finding a shade I like - I LOVE the packaging though!
Vaseline Paint the Town Red Lip Tint
This was such a waste of my money! I have the pink tinted one and it actually gives off some colour - albeit a very subtle colour. But as you can see from the swatches, I get pretty much nothing from this! I know Vaseline isn't an ideal product for moisturising the lips. But as this time of year and further into winter I like to wear it when I'm out and about to act as a barrier between my lips and the harsh weather - helping to prevent dryness instead of actually making it better! But I would not recommend this if you actually wanted something tinted!
Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss - Adorned & Embellished
Me and Revlon are still becoming acquainted. But I'm really loving them recently, they seem to have some great products. My latest adventure into the brand is with their ColorBurst lipglosses. These two are from the Evening Opulence Collection which released this Autumn along with some lip butters, eyeshadows and nail polishes. I'm impressed though, they're pigmented and gorgeous!
Collection Gothic Glam Lipsticks - Seduction & Revenge
(£2.99 each, Superdrug)
Collection are on a roll at the moment they have two new collections that have released in the same anmunt of weeks. These two lipsticks are from the Gothic Glam Collection, which is perfectly timed for Autumn and Halloween. Personally I'd wear these gorgeous vampy lipsticks at any time, but I know some will just pull them out for fancy dress - lets be realistic here! Included in the collection are three lipsticks (the other is purple) and 3 nail polishes, which are also stunning! So a small collection, but great products!
Collection Little Mix Lipstick - Perrie
(£2.99, Boots & Superdrug)
More Collection lipsticks! I'm a big lover of them to be honest definitely worth looking at if you want a cheap lippie! The Little Mix Collection has been a lot more hyped than the Gothic Glam one (I hadn't even heard of it!), but to be honest, I haven't been overly fussed by the Little Mix products. The products all seem a bit samey and there doesn't seem to be any stand out, stunning colours to me! I did pick up this mauve lipstick though - it was one of the only things that did stand out!
Collection Rock It Liner - Perrie's Glitter Liner
(£2.99, Boots & Superdrug)
No I don't have a thing for Perrie (whichever one she is?!), but apparently I like the make-up shes put her name on! This is basically one of the Collection Glitter Liners, just with a name change for the collection. This one is probably best worn over a standard eyeliner (as they all are). I did originally think this was a black liner with silver glitter, but actually it's chocka-block filled with black and silver glitter in a clear base, funky!
Collection Does It All 5in1 Mascara
(£3.99, Boots & Superdrug - normally £4.99)
Ooh a new mascara! The Collection mascaras can be a little bit hit and miss and this was a bit of a risky purchase! Claiming to that it 'Does it all' is a pretty huge claim and is going to really have to wow me to live up to that claim! I'll be honest though, I did give it a quick try this morning and it doesn't seem to hit the mark. But of course I need to give it a proper try before I write a proper review! PS Yes I did completely raid the Collection stand haha!
Sleek i-Divine Palette - Vintage Romance
Finally! It feels like I've been going into my local Superdrug about 2/3 times a week for the last month to get this little baby. I have a huge love for Sleek palettes and always make sure I pick up their latest one. This one has some absolutely perfect shades for Autumn, although I am a little disappointed to see that most of the purples are very warm toned. I'll be getting a FOTD up using this palette soon, so keep an eye out for that! But essentially it's a Sleek palette, so you know the drill - good quality and pigmented!
BarryM Natural Glow Shadow & Blush Palette
(£6.49, Boots & Superdrug)
Recently BarryM released 3 brand new palettes, each one includes 6 eyeshadows and a blush. Strangely for me I actually picked up the most natural coloured one! It included a lot of cooler toned shades in it, which are less common - but definitely my preference! It is a cardboard palette, which I'm not really liking, but it does have a magnetic closure and seems sturdy enough!
BarryM Textured Nail Effects Nail Paint - Countess
(£3.99, Boots & Superdrug)
I don't even remember the last time I bought a nail polish - it's been a while. But I just couldn't resist this one after seeing pictures of it on a blog. I can't remember who's it was, but the girl had put a glossy topcoat over the top and it was literally the most beautiful nail polish I have ever seen - can't wait to show you! Colour wise though it is a warm purple and gold shimmer mix, again great for autumn!
You would not believe how long it has taken me to write and edit everything for this post! That's dedication to you guys! I'd love to hear which products you're most excited about, anything you want a review on? Or are you just going to go out and buy any of them? Thanks for reading guys and I hope you have a great week!
