I'm pretty sure LOOK Beauty have been having a 50% off sale on their website for the last 3 months! But I don't think that's something to complain about! Especially when it's taken me so long to get a review up of this mini palette - reviews of lots more LOOK Beauty products are in the works. This particular review is of something that I have been absolutely loving recently, although there are a couple of things that I'm not so fond of. But that's quite often the way, anyway this intro is getting super rambly and disjointed, so lets go!
As always I've included a summary at the end :)
If you've ever seen the Too Faced Glamour To Go Kits, this LOOK Beauty Palette will look very similar to you! It has a very similar concept to it, being a teeny tiny palette. But despite being so small it fits a lot into it! Kinda like the Mary Poppins handbag of the beauty world! Despite fitting in the palm of my (small) hand this has 8 eyeshadows, a blush and 4 lipgloss shades inside it. As it is small, there is a small amount of product in it. But as the price is good, and it's a very convenient palette I'm cool with that! So as a breakdown you get 5.4g of eyeshadow, 1.6g of lipgloss and 3g of blusher. For all this the palette costs just £6 (although £3 in the 50% off sale), there are also 3 other colour options to choose from as well!
The first thing I'm going to say is that these eyeshadows is that they are very very pigmented! However I do find that the fallout is excessive - I would definitely recommend applying your foundation afterwards with these shadows. However they really are beautiful shades and perfect for making a colourful smoky eye. Included are a matte and shimmery black, a silver and matte white. Also it has a deep blue, gunmetal, bronze and purple. I think the blue and purple are my favourites! Longevity wise these have creased a little by the 8 hour point (over a primer), but the colour is still super strong and intense!
The palette also includes a blush shade - which is different in each palette. The one in this one is a fairly neutral toned candy pink shade. Like the eyeshadows it is very pigmented, making it a very bright blush, which is best applied with a light hand/stipple brush. Again it's very powdery, although this is less of an issue with blushes I find. On my face I find this lasts around 6 hours, which for a cheap blush I'm more than happy with. I do find that this bright pink shade doesn't really work with the eyeshadow colours though, it would have been nicer to see a toned down rosey shade instead.
I'm sorry LOOK Beauty, but I hate these. I will admit that I'm not a fan of having cream products next to powder ones, nor am I a fan of lip products in pans. The pigmentation on these is alright, but nothing special. On the lips they feel like a thicker lipstick and are not really glossy. I think these probably should have been described as lipsticks not glosses. I get about 3 hours wear from these, but won't be using them now that I have done the testing. It's also worth mention that the corner of my blush did shatter a little (perfectly usable still), but it has made a bit of a mess of the lip products.
|Wearing eyeshadow, blush & lip colour from the palette.|
The Good - Very good pigmentation, good value, currently on 50% off, beautiful colous, great for travel.
The Not so Good - None of the products are long-wearing, fallout, powdery, I don't think the blush shade goes with the eyeshadows.
Would I Repurchase? I would for the eyeshadow colours, but not for the blush or lip products.
Price & Availability - £6, Superdrug - or currently £3 on LOOK Beauty's Website.
So basically, the verdict for this palette is, if you want the eyeshadows it's worth it. But I wouldn't bother if you only want the rest of it! I really love the idea though, imagine if Sleek did something like this! Would be amazing! Anyway I hope you enjoyed the review and I'll speak to you again soon :)
