It's been a few months since I did monthly favourites, but it really is about time I started them up again as you guys always seemed to like them (and I loved sharing them!). This month I have some new products to show that I've been loving as well as some old favourites that I've rediscovered and thought were definitely worth a share! As well as this post I've also posted a video talking about all of these products, so if you'd rather watch than read (or want to do both!), then you can find it at the bottom of the post :)
GOSH CC Cream - Porcelain
This one also claims to be an illuminating foundation, go figure! But whatever it thinks it is, I really do like it and have been reaching for it a lot recently! I'm not going to go into too much detail as it's going to be the next product I review. But it's a great colour match for my pale skin, gives good coverage and stays nicely on my skin. I do think that they're running on the hype of CC Creams with the product - but to be fair to GOSH so is everyone else!
MUA Lash Boom Mascara
(£3, Superdrug & MUA's Website)
In the past I've not been a fan of MUA mascaras, so I have no idea what urged me to try this one, but I'm pleased I did! This has become a new favourite. If you're on a budget and want a volumizing and false lash effect mascara then I would definitely recommend this one! For a full review, featuring before and after pictures, click here - link.
Dr Organic Aloe Vera Gel
(£6.19 for 200ml, Holland & Barrett)
Probably a rather random product to have included and not really a 'Beauty' product, but I just had to include it. The combination of working in a kitchen and being clumsy means that it's not unusual for me to burn myself. The lovely Ali from Maliberry Make-Up told me that Aloe Vera Gel would be worth a shot and she was bang on the money! This particular one has Tea Tree & Arnica in it beefing up its credentials and I have really noticed a difference in the affected areas. Less red, less dry and less sore, whilst generally speeding up the overall healing process. Will be keeping this as a staple in my first aid kit!
ELF Long-lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow - Toast
(£3.75, ELF's Website)
As I said in my video, when I initially bought this I was unsure of quite what the formula was like - I'd just heard it was good. It's a soft cream eyeshadow that ventures slightly into the realms of being a mousse. It's a little odd! But I like it and have been reaching for it a lot! The finish is very metallic and also has some glitter in it (which does fall down a little), so is not one for those that like subtle eyes. But personally I've been loving it as I don't have anything else which gives quite the same effect!
Collection Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencil - Vanilla Sky
These are actually currently on offer for £2.50 in Superdrug, so that's probably the best place to go at the moment if you wanted to pick 1 (or more!) up! That aside, it seems I have gone cream eyeshadow mad this month! This one is a pencil though and in my opinion the more superior when it comes to lasting power. To me it's like the pencil version of the Maybelline Color Tattoos - a bold claim, I know! This particular colour is perfect on the lid or to highlight the inner corners of the eyes. Sleek Au Naturel & Oh So Special Palettes
(£7.99 each, Superdrug)
It's no secret that I have a love affair with Sleek, so probably not such a big surprise that I've got two of their products in this months favourites. I've been reaching for these two palettes an awful lot recently, especially to use the matte browns in each. The great thing about Sleek eyeshadows is that you can rely on the quality, so if the colour looks right for the look you're creating then you're not going to have any problems with application or blending.
By no way shape or form could this be described as a beauty product, but over the last few weeks I have been so obsessed with this. I'd heard of it for years and always just thought it was a bit pointless. But how wrong was I! It's actually really handing for pulling inspiration together in one place. I have boards on make-up ideas, nail ideas, halloween ideas and even some wedding ideas! If you haven't checked it out before, it's definitely worth a look - but be warned, it's addictive! You can check out my boards here - link.
I seem to have collected together a very random selection of favourites this month! I'd love to hear what your favourite product(s) was last month - or perhaps something here has caught your eye and you really want to try it out! As always thanks for reading!
