I would say MUA come in my top three make-up brands of all time. The other two being Sleek and ELF for those that were wondering! I've gone over some favourites from both these other brands (although the ELF one is a little out of date so let me know if you want a new one!) so thought it was about time I got an MUA one up! MUA stands for MakeUp Academy. Where the shade names are in brackets it's just an example of a colour as I love the formula. I hope you like it :)
It's a long post, but at the bottom is the info in video format :)
Pro Base Fixing Mist
(£5)
Love this stuff! A couple of squirts on my face after applying my make-up and it sets it in place for the day. I find that it leaves my foundation looking nice a lot longer through the day and does a fab job at keeping oil at bay. Really handy stuff! Full review here - link.
Matte Perfect Primer
(£4)
You may have seen my rave review of this yesterday, but if not basically I think this is a great dupe for Benefit's Porefessional/Too Faced Primed & Poreless. It does a good job of filling in pores - although remember there's no such thing as a magic cure! One issue is that I don't find it does much for keeping me matte during the day as the name might suggest. Full review here - link.
Professional Eye Primer
(£2.50)
If I had to only have one eye primer this would be a strong contender as on my relatively normal lids this does a fab job. And controverisal I know, but I prefer this to the Urban Decay Primer Potion (which I find a nightmare to blend anything over!). It's relatively comparable to the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but I do prefer the packaging of the Too Faced one I'm afraid to say. Full review here - link.
Intense Kisses Lipgloss (Kiss and Make Up)
(£2)
I am obsessed with these little guys at the moment, seriously it's love. They are non-sticky, pigmented, vanilla scented goodness. This particular one is gorgeous, but actually they all have lovely colours and I'll be having a lip swatch post of all the colours coming soon - I caved and bought them all, but I'm pleased I did as they're all so pretty! Full review here - link.
Lipstick (Shade 13)
(£1)
Yes, just £1! And again, super pigmented, lovely and smooth and you guessed it, vanilla scented! I'm showing you this gorgeous red here, but they also have some lovely nudey and everyday shades. I have reviewed 'Bare' here - link.
Lip Liner - Brooding Plum
(£1)
Another obsession of mine, this is getting rather short now! This is just a gorgeous deeper red that leans slightly berry toned. The red they do is also gorgeous though. These two shades last on the lips for hours and hours, even through eating, which for £1 is very good! For a review and swatches of all the shades, click here - link.
Single Eyeshadow (Shade 7)
(£1)
This is the product that first got me into MUA, infact this particular shade was in my first ever MUA haul! And look where it has lead me, so it must be good right? Right! These are lovely and pigmented and come in some beautiful colours. I'm not so fond of the matte formula ones, but the shimmer ones are a must!
Eyebrow Pencil (Blonde)
(£1)
If I could only have one MUA product, this would be it. I wear this little guy pretty much every single day - there's about a 99% I have this on my brows. And if you were a follower back in the days when I didn't use brow products (Ahh embarrassing pictures!) you'll know that naturally my brows are effectively invisible. So this is genius!
Blending Brush - E3
(£1.95)
My favourite blending brush. It just has the right shape on my eye for placing and blending product into the crease beautifully. I've actually been very impressed with their brushes generally, will definitely be trying to pick some more up at some point. An overview of the ones I have can be found here - link.
Cream Blush - Blossom
(£2)
I wasn't too fussed with the other colours, but this one has a beautiful everyday colour, perfect for those like me with pale skin. i do find it a little too stiff to work with a stipple brush as I normally would a cream blush. But using a paddle shaped foundation brush works well for that lovely natural flush! Full review here - link.
Nail Varnish - Shade 2
(£1)
A good black nail varnish is a staple for anyone that likes to delve into nail art. Or those that just like black nails. But what is some impressive about this black is that it's opaque with just 1 coat, which for £1 is superfabulosa! Not that that is even a word!
Heaven & Earth Palette
(£4)
This is just a lovely shimmery nudey coloured eyeshadow palette. All the palettes are lovely, but I just picked this one out to show you as I thought it would float most people boats. They also have a Naked 1 Palette dupe (Undressed) and a brand new palette which I have a feeling will be a new favourite and possibly a Naked 2 dupe (Undress Me Too).
In conjunction with this Top Picks post I'm doing an MUA giveaway featuring some of my favourite products I've mentioned, to be in of a chance of winning check out the post here - link. I'd love it if you shared what you've been loving from the brand and I'll speak to you again soon, Hannah
