Yesterday I posted all about how much fun I had at the Bristol Blogger Meet, which hopefully you've had a read of, but if not you can read it here - link. But as us beauty bloggers like to do, we went shopping after our meal in Frankie & Benny's and I was in a shopping mood, having been rather stingy on spending for most of the year! This is going to a very long post, so lets get started!
Dainty Doll Blush - You are my Sunshine
(£4.99 as part of a set, TK Maxx)
I got all three of the Dainty Doll products I've mentioned here in one set for £4.99, which is a super bargain considering you'd pay £13.50 for just this blush on LookFantastic! One of the lovely girls I was shopping with (Jade) told me this was a very close dupe to Nars Orgasm and looking at her comparison pictures it really looks it!
Dainty Doll Eyeshadow Base - Frankie Girl
(£4.99 as part of a set, TK Maxx)
Another bargain as this sells for £10.20 on LookFantastic! This is the product of the set that I was a little dubious of, but actually after swatching I think it might turn out to be quite nice. This has an ever so slight yellow tone to it (much like Benefits Lemonade) which will hopefully cancel out any purple tones in my eyes to make them appear brighter - in theory anyway!
Dainty Doll Lipstick - Saucy Sailor
(£4.99 as part of a set, TK Maxx)
This one comes in at £12.25 on LookFantastic, making this little set I bought worth £35.75! More than £30 more than I payed for it - not bad! Although saying that, there's no way I would have payed full price for that, you know me, always after a bargain!
Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation - Ivory
(£6.99, Superdrug)
Another bargain as this is on introductory price at the moment, normally £8.99. Highstreet prices seem to be creeping up, or is it just me? I've been hearing so many good things about this foundation, so I thought it was about time I tried my first Revlon foundation! And luckily for me they cater for paler skins, with this actually being a good match! My only issue is that it has no pump on it!
Boots Botanics BB Cream - Light
(£8.99, Boots)
I'm going to put this out there, if there was a tester of this I wouldn't have bought it. It's very thin, more like a tinted moisturizer and rather orange. A redeeming feature is that it actually feels pretty nice on the skin! I picked this up though as when skincare brands release BB Creams I tend to listen a little more to their claims! This also has an SPF30 so will be good in the summer!
BarryM Textured Nail Paint - Ridley Road
(£3.99, currently 2 for £6, Superdrug)
I know some people don't like the textured nail paints, thinking they look a little tacky, but I love them! And to have a pastel coloured one is perfect, especially mint green, one of my favourite colours. I will definitely get a NOTD up using this soon!
Barry M Gelly Nail Paint - Lychee
(£3.99, currently 2 for £6, Superdrug)
Another offer - I may have spent a reasonable amount, but I got some good deals! This one my mum would hate, she always tells me nude nails are boring, but for me they're my classy nail. I'm not the biggest red nail fan in all honesty, I just can't put my finger on why! Again I can't wait to get this on my nails!
L'oreal Colour Riche Nail Polish - Confettis
(£4.99, Boots)
There's a lot of hype surrounding this nail polish and I think I fell into it! It's nice, not gonna lie, but whether it's worth the hype is another matter. I just don't get hype! Regardless I think this should look pretty either over nude or pastel coloured nails.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal - Nude
(£3.99, Boots)
Another blogger recommendation, this time from Ali who tells me this is a lovely shade on the waterline to brighten up my eyes. So far I've only tried it on make-upless eyes and it seems a bit warm toned, but hopefully once I've got some make-up on it'll look a lot nicer. Not that it looks awful now! The formula seems nice though, so we'll have to wait and see!
Figs & Rouge Tinted Lip Balm - Cherry Blossom
(£4.95, Feel Unique)
This one I didn't get whilst out with the girls, but it did arrive in the post a few days ago, so I thought I'd pop it in! After loving the formula of their regular balm so much I wanted to try something tinted as that's something I wear a lot more! So far I'm not 100% convinced, but it does last on the lips a lot long than other balms, so winning there! And is smells delicious!
Rimmel Apocalips - Stellar & Apocalyptic
(£5.99, Boots)
Again these are super hyped and I'm probably gonna step on some peoples toes here, but my first impressions of these are not good! They're very smudgy and tranferable, which as they're so pigmented could well be an issue. But the colours are stunning so I feel I need to give these a proper chance and just hope something magical happens! Also not convinced on the watermelon scent. The doefoot applicator on these is perfect though, weird thing to say, I know!
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains - Crush & Lovesick
(£7.99 each, Boots)
These are currently on buy one get one half price, so another deal! These I'm liking a lot more though as the transfer is very minimal! Testing them properly will be the deal breaker, but first impressions are good! I'd love to hear what your favourite colours of these are though as I may need more...
| The Goody Bag - Too big to fit in my usual photographing area! |
The Goody Bag!
Alessia and Sasha really did an amazing job with the goody bags for the meet and completely unexpected as well, which is always even better. You two an everyone else literally made my day feel like Christmas again! Inside the goody bag we had a huge variety of products and brands. Fullsize and sample and even a candle from Shearer Candles. I'll have reviews of lots of these exciting products coming up, but I wanted to pick a few out to share with you today!
Dr Organic Products*
I've not really heard about this brand before, but I'm seriously excited for these ones - although I've only tried one so far! But they sound (and look) really good!
Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Day Cream (£9.49* Holland & Barrett) - Vegan, not animal tested, lots of natural ingredients, pro-collagen.
Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Night Cream (£8.49* Holland & Barrett) - Anti-Aging, Deep Hydration, SLS Free, Paraben and Fragrance free, vegan.
Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Hand & Nail Cream (£5.99* Holland & Barrett) - This stuff strangely smells a bit lemony? But a sweet lemon, not a sharp one. And is rather good from my two uses anyway!
The Little Bubble Co - Vanilla Biscuit Bath & Shower Gel*
(£2.99, Waitrose)
You get a lot of shower gels that look a bit like this, but this one sounds very delicious! I actually used it last night in the shower and you know what? It is delicious, albeit a little bit sicky. If vanilla's not your thing they also have some other scents, in Strawberry Sundae, Coconut Creme and Mango Delight. The product is also vegetarian, non-animal tested and paraben free, coming in a huge 500ml bottle. A winner all around!
Aromatherapy Gold Mouldable Stress Ball - Grapefruit & Geranium*
(£4.75, Aromatherapy Gold)
Something I've not really heard about before, and very intriguing I must say! This particular ones smells delicious and is designed to be energizing. If energizing isn't quite your thing then they also have a relaxing stress release stress ball, which sounds like something I could do with being in my final year at uni!
Benefit Fine One One*
(£23.50, Boots)
Can you believe we revceived these in our bags? Me neither, but it's starting to sink in! I haven't had a proper chance to play with this as of yet, except to realise that the 'contour' portion is pretty much orange, so much more suited to being a blush - but mixed all together you get a really pretty shimmery coral colour.
Head Full of Feather - Bow Clip*
I can't actually find this product online, but it's a beautiful firm, glittery hair bow. I have dreads so this may be difficult to use, but it's so pretty that I will make it work! Looking at their Etsy page they seem to do some beautiful hair pieces and also some lovely shoe clips, so show them some love!
Phew! That was a seriously long post to write an photograph for! But fun too, looking through it all and playing with swatches! I'm sure I will get reviews of all of this stuff up but if there's anything you're curious of let me know and I'll get a review of it up first - it's gonna take a while to review this little lot! Thanks again to everyone that made the Bristol Bloggers Meet so perfect.
