I tweeted about this huge revelation a few days ago, but have since decided that this is worth a blog post all of it's own!
Last week it was announced that the EU are set to ban the import and sale of cosmetics tested on animals as of 11th March this year. This for me is amazing progress on stopping such an unnecessary practice. However I do wonder what's going to happen to companies wishing to sell their products in both the EU and China - China require compulsory animal testing on products sold there. I guess we should just wait and see. But for now I think we all need to give a big well done to The Body Shop and Cruelty-Free International who have been campaigning for over 20 years for this result!
Thanks for stopping by, Hannah

Love to hear this news. However I'm always confused about the body shop having a no animal testing policy as the body shop is owned by l'oreal which do test on animals. xx
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can work out, the profits are kept separately meaning profits from TBS are not going towards animal testing that L'oreal does.
DeleteThis is great news! Finally :)
