Empties - January 2013 (+ No Buy Update!)

I know you're probably fed up of hearing it, but I really can't believe it's Febuary already, the last month has flown by! As you may know, I put myself on a spending ban at the beginning of the year and I'll be honest with you guys I haven't done too well with it and have bought a few things. But I've definitely spend a lot less than I would have, which is a bonus. Another bonus is that I've been very determined with my using things up and have been religiously slathering body lotion on every night! - My skin loves it!

MUA Eyebrow Pencil - Blonde (Rebuy)
I've got through well over 5 of these creamy brow pencils, they're quite warm toned in colour but that works for me! I'm going to shamefully admit I have 5 back-ups....

17 Peep Show Mascara (Rebuy)
I love this mascara, one of my favourites! I would definitely rebuy it, although I may try their new one first and generally I get on really well with 17 mascaras!

Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara
This did nothing for my lashes and was just really thick - I haven't really used it much, so I'm not sure if it actually counts as using it up. But it's gong in the bin!

Too Faced Pump Up Lash Injection Mascara (Possible Rebuy)
I love this mascara, it volumises really well and as it's a tubing mascara also really stays on the lashes. However it's super pricey so I'm not sure if I'd go there again..

Original Source Vanilla & Raspberry Shower Gel (Rebuy)
I love Original Source Shower Gels and will probably always rebuy them. This particular one was pretty creamy and smell really summery!

The Body Shop Shea Shower Gel
There was nothing wrong with this as such, it was just very plain and not very exciting! I do have another bottle that my boyfriends lovely gran gifted me, so no need to repurchase anytime soon :)

Baylis & Harding Rose, Ylang Ylang & Patchouli Body Cream (Possible Rebuy)
Another gift from the boyfriends family, this time from his sister. I wonder if they think I smell? Anyway this was a nice lotion, kinda gel like, with a gorgeous subtle smell.

Palmers Gentle Exfoliating Facial Scrub (Rebuy)
I love this stuff, it's really nice and exfoliating, softens my skin. One little issue is that is smells a little floral and  sometimes the taste gets in my mouth which isn't pleasant. But overall, love this stuff!

Dirty Works Sole Sister Foot Scrub (Rebuy)
This is available from Sainsburys and is perfect for the feet (if you aren't tickelish!). It uses pumice and peppermint to get your feet smelling and feeling great.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream (Rebuy)
I got this small size in a glossybox last year and it's really great for my pretty normal (but blemish prone) skin. It's light yet moisturizing. Will definitely be getting some more of this once I've finished some other stuff up!

Olay Nature Infusion Day Cream (Possible Rebuy)
Again this stuff is really great, I did actually think I'd repurchased this, but had actually got the night cream (smart!), so will be starting that soon once I've used some samples!

Tesco Sensitive Cleansing Wipes (Rebuy)
I don't use these so much for my face, probably only once of twice a month for that. Generally I use them for removing swatches etc when I'm having a swatch session!

Batiste Dry Shampoo - Diva (Rebuy)
Everyone's gotta love a bit of Batiste! The scent of this one is also really nice - there's not much more I can really say, we all know about this stuff!

Cosmetic Cottom Wool Buds (Rebuy)
I'm not sure this really counts as an empty, but I've wanted to mention them for a while so seeing as I'd finished them I thought I'd throw them in. These have a different shape to other cotton buds, one end has a pointed tip and the other is more paddle shaped - great for make-up :)

I'm not sure I've ever finished this much up in a month before, hopefully this determination will make a nice dent in my collection of body products over the next few months! How are you all doing? Hannah

  3. You got through so many products! I didn't get on with the Thick and Fast mascara either, I got a new one in the S&G Best of All kit, it's sadly going to have to find a home elsewhere! That Original Source Shower Gel is my favourite of the range, it smells like a raspberry milkshake :) xx

    1. I know, so many, a lot of them were half used already though which helped! I'm glad someone agrees with me about the mascara though, I've actually read quite a lot of good reviews...

  8. I use my face wipes the exact same way! Curse of being a blogger is the multi coloured arms haha :) I've heard a lot of good things about the 17 mascaras, saw an amazing picture the other day of a girl wearing the new doll eyes one! Definitely need to try that :) I'm doing okay with my empties too, definitely trying to use some stuff up so I have the excuse to buy new things for S/S ;) haha x

    1. I think that's why I have so many used up things - because there's so many things I want to buy but can't justify! You've made me want the new 17 Dolled Up Mascara even more now!

  9. Love reading empties post. I am not on a spending ban but am trying to use lots of stuff up (kind of project pan i guess) I love the feeling of using stuff up. Right now I'm resisting my favourites and trying to use stuff I'm not keen on/I dont use a lot so I can throw it out, have more space in my drawers and get to constantly love my fave products! xx
