What's In My Glossybox? January 2013!

Like always I was pretty excited to get this months box, but after opening it and having a look at what's inside, I'm not sure I'm that happy with what I got. I know that it's all a gamble it can't be brilliant each month, I was hopeing for a little something to brighten up my rubbish week! I have signed up the UK Birchbox though, so fingers crossed that does the job! This months Glossybox has a detox theme - although I do like that they keep giving us bonus Glossybox products!

This months box has a ~£24.16 value!

Inside this months box...
Lacoste Eau de Lacoste
Murad Hydro DynamicTM Ultimate Moisture for Eyes
Monu Microexfoliant
BM Beauty Dewy Perfection Finishing Powder
Sanctuary Spa Active Reverse Thermal Transformation Mask
Bonus - Glossybox Eye Mask

Glossybox it is basically a monthly sample subscription for £10 (+p&p), but you can find out more here.

Lacoste Eau de Lacoste
Price for Fullsize? £33, for 30ml
Size & Value of Glossybox Sample? 2ml, £2.20
My Thoughts - Okay so we have another perfume sample, I'm not a big hater of them, nor a big lover. But I can accept them from time to time! This particular one is alright smelling, it is something I'd wear, but I can't see it being a new favourite.

Murad Hydro DynamicTM Ultimate Moisture for Eyes

Price for Fullsize? £57, 15ml
Size & Value of Glossybox Sample? £13.30, 3.5ml
My Thoughts - Oh my this is pricey! I would never repurchase something at this price, but if it's good it'll be a nice thing to try. This particular eye cream is aimed at hydrating and firming the eye area. And there's an interesting fact on the pamphlet - the eyes do not create their own oil meaning that they're one of the first areas to show aging and dehydration, interesting!

Monu Microexfoliant

Price for Fullsize? £14.50, 100ml
Size & Value of Glossybox Sample? £4.35, 30ml
My Thoughts - A couple of months ago I had my first ever dabble into microexfoliants after receiving a sample of the Dermalogica one in Novembers box. And I love it, but it costs nearly £40 for a fullsize and that's just too pricey! Although this Monu one is liquid rather than powder I'm hoping it is similar as it's much cheaper!

BM Beauty Dewy Perfection Finishing Powder

Price for Fullsize? £8, 4g
Size & Value of Glossybox Sample? £2, 1g
My Thoughts - This is a pretty stingey sample if we're gonna be honest, I will have to do something with it to be able to use it as well - there's no way I'm going to get a powder brush into this tiny pot! However I'll reserve judgement for the actual product until I've tried it! However I did have a BM Beauty Bronzer in a Glossybox once and really wasn't a fan!

Sanctuary Spa Active Reverse Thermal Transformation Mask

Price for Fullsize? £27.50 for a two part set, 125ml total
Size & Value of Glossybox Sample? ~£2.31, 10.5ml,
My Thoughts - This is a two sachet set that helps to improve the appearance of skin without cosmetic injections apparently! Included inside is a Pepetide Transformation Serum, which you apply under the Thermal Rose Clay Mask. I'd say there's only a couple of uses in the sachets, so we won't really be able to see the 30 day effect they claim, but we shall see how a couple of uses does!

So originally I wasn't particularly thrilled with this box, but after picking it apart a little and thinking about it whilst writing this post I have decided that it's not so evil and am actually quite looking forward to trying the Monu Microexfoliant - although less skincare might have been nice! What were your thoughts on this months box? Hannah

  1. I can't believe you got such a different one, I didn't realise they had that many variations! I prefer yours actually, I would've liked the powder and the eye cream especially x

  2. Just seeing as you mentioned liking the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, but that it was too dear to buy the full size - you can buy the mini sized ones on Millies.ie for 12 euro, which is about £10 (http://www.milliesbeautyrooms.ie/Products/Dermalgica-Daily-Microfoliant-Try-Me-Pot__121.aspx). It's an Irish site, so I'm not 100% sure if they ship to England though! They are definitely genuine Dermalogica products, 'cause I've bought from it before :) One of the mini ones lasted me about six months, seeing as you only need to use a tiny little bit. There might be some UK sites selling them at similar prices too maybe!
