Review + Swatches: MUA Lipstick - Bare

I don't usually opt for nude lips, infact to be honest I'd go as far as to say they've scared me a little in the past! I'm slowly getting over the fear at the moment, enough to venture out and give some new shades a go! This particular one I picked up online without seeing it in person first (not the best idea I know!), but the price was so reasonable that I couldn't resist giving it a go!

The Basics
MUA are known for their bargain products, and this one doesn't fail to deliver on the quality either! Here you're getting 3.8g of lipstick for just £1. The packaging isn't particularly wonderful, but it does the job of protecting the product - you get what you pay for! The line is pretty varied, with 16 colour choices available, which embarrassingly I'm slowly acquiring!

Sorry it's used - my camera decided to delete the original pictures!

The Formula
Like all the MUA lipsticks I've tried these have a lovely smooth texture and apply perfectly nicely to the lips. The texture is not heavy on the lips, however I do find that after a couple of hours it can settle into the lips slightly. Overall the wear is around 3 hours on my lips - although eating pretty much removes it! So it's not the longest lasting, but for £1 and consider it's not drying on the lips, I'm pretty happy!

Colour & Pigmentation
For me this is right on the boundary of what I can get away with as far as nude lips are concerned. It's a proper nude, not the pink/brown jobs I usually go for! It does lean slightly on the warm site, but nothing a pale cool toned girl like me is going to hate! It's a very hard colour to describe, but hopefully the pictures are speaking for me here! As for finish it is neither matte not gloss, but siting somewhere inbetween, with some pretty good pigmentation!

The Good - pigmented, cheap, value, good colour range, not drying.

The Not So Good - the longevity could be a little better.

Would I repurchase? For me this colour is pushing the limits a bit with a nude shade - but I have been out of the house with it on! But MUA Lipsticks, absolutely!

Price & Availability - £1, Superdrug & MUA's Website

I'm not usually a nude lip person, but after trying this I may just have to sway from my brighter colours sometimes! Anyway thanks for stopping by and I'll speak to you soon :)

    1. This one did a little, but being a more nude shade it's not such an issue!

  3. Hya, have you tried MUA's Lip Boom? I am not normally a lipstick wearer I prefer gloss but I purchased "OK.com" on a whim when they were having one of their sales and it would have to be the best matte nudes I have ever tried. The formula is super creamy, hydrating and it stays put for a long time. I was really impressed :o)
