It's seems like such a long time since I've reviewed an ELF product, although I'm sure in reality it's probably only a few weeks! But I do have a bit of an obsession with the brand, and although the better products are generally from the studio line, I decided to pick up one of these lipglosses from the essential line last time I ordered as I was more than a little curious of what they were like!
The Basics
Being part of the essentials line this lipgloss is a bargainous £1.50. However there is only 1.5g of product in the tube. But for the price, I think I can let that slide! These have a brush applicator to them, with a twist up mechanism that pushes the product into it. It tends to work pretty well, although perhaps not dispensing enough product at once - but that's much better than too much! In total there are 12 colours available.
The Formula
I'm not usually into sticky glosses, but sometimes I unfortunately come across them. This one being one of them. However this does have one bonus to it - sticky gloss usually last longer on the lips, with this one lasting 3-4 hours on me. Like most lipglosses this has no drying effect on the lips.
Colour & Pigmentation
The colour of this is VERY sheer, which is alright sometimes, but generally for me I like some colour! In the tube this is a nudey mauve shade with some really subtle silver shimmer to it. However not much of this translates to the lips, but it does leave a nice gloss!
The Good - cheap, lots of colours available.
The Not so Good - On the sticky side, small amount of product, quite sheer.
Would I repurchase? Probably not, it was too thick/sticky for my liking.
Price & Availability - £1.50, ELF's Website.
Sometimes I get writers block when it comes to writing this bit of the post! I hope you all have a really great weekend and remember to do at least one fun thing for yourself, even if it's just taking 5 extra minutes in the shower to give yourself a good body scrub! Thanks for stopping by, Hannah

Like you, I'm not too keen on sticky glosses either so I probably wouldn't pick this but there are some other ELF products that I'm dying to try (still an elf virgin...)

The Blonde Ethos
Aww thanks lovely :) ELF do some fab products, it's always worth looking up some reviews first though as there can be some duds!
DeleteI don't know if this one's out in the U.K. yet or not, but e.l.f. has a Plumping Lip Glaze that's decently pigmented and not so sticky. It's also in their Essentials line.

Yes we do, I actually have one - but have barely tried it. So will definitely be giving it a try. Thanks for the tip!
DeleteI like these but found that all the colours looked really similar on!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine, this one is pretty sheer!
DeleteJust popped over from the BlogHop. I have avoided these, I'm glad now I hate sticky lip gloss. The colour suits you though :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks lovely :)
DeleteIf you want something really colourful and pigmented from ELF try the mineral lipstick, it's a bit more expensive at £5 but its really moisturising and lasts a surprisingly long time x
ReplyDeleteThey're fab aren't they - great colours too!
