Review: MUA Mega Volume Mascara

Last year MUA released a brand new mascara for us, in hot pink packaging! But however much the pink packaging drew me in, it was the name that really did the deal! I'm blessed with pretty long lashes, that have quite a nice curl anyway, but volume is something I really need in a mascara! So this fab looking new one from MUA was a no brainer really!

The Basics
First thing you'll notice when you see this mascara is that it has some pretty huge packaging. Definitely not going to fit in with my other mascaras! The wand is pretty nice looking though, being a rubber style one - great for definition! The colour choice is pretty standard, with Black, Brown & Waterproof (black) being offered, I have it in Waterproof. These are available from Superdug & MUA's Website for £3

What did I think?
The formula of this is quite nice, no smudging under the eyes - rain tested and everything! And the brush is also really nice, separating the lashes really nicely. But I have one issue with this product, the closure around the top of the tube is really small, meaning that most of the product is scrapped off of the brush as it comes out! This means that however good the wand and formula are it just doesn't give me much volume - even with a few coats as shown in the pictures. But I may try the wand in a different mascara as it looks like a good'un!

The Good - cheap, really nice wand, separates really nicely, waterproof option, doesn't smudge.

The Not so Good - hardly any product comes off on the wand, making this quite a natural looking mascara.

Would I repurchase? It's nice as a natural mascara, but I like something a bit more volumizing.

Price & Availability - £3 MUA's Website & Superdrug.

I'm struggling on the mascara front at the moment, I don't really have any that I particularly love and am on a spending ban! I might have to get using some up whilst I can I guess! As always thanks for stopping by and I'll speak to you soon, Hannah

  1. I have MUA mascara (with no name :D) and it's ok, I have to apply several coats to sechieve desired look, I have quite short and light lashes.
But this is a lovely review, I like that it straight to the point :)

    1. Thanks lovely :) I think I may have tried the no name one as well from MUA - if we're on about the same one I didn't find it too great either!

  2. Since your natural lashes look pretty amazing anyway, it seems that the MUA mascara just added some colour! Don't think I'd pick it up since my lashes are pretty pathetic.. Your review just helped my resist temptation haha.

    1. It did a little bit, but it's nothing particularly amazing. Thanks though :)

  3. I'll be honest, I've yet to find an MUA mascara that adds really good volume to my lashes, I'm still hung up on Maybelline the falsies :)
