Overview: The New MUA Make-Up Brushes!

A few weeks ago MUA AKA MakeUp Academy made a huge announcement that they were to release a who line of make-up brushes. For me this was very exciting as recently I've been getting into my brushes more. You have to have the tools to apply the make-up, right?! So when they released I picked myself up five to try - and I think I'll be back for more! Here goes the review...

The Basics
The brush range is very reasonably priced, with the prices starting at £1.50 and nothing costing more than £5. In total there are 14 brushes, which is pretty good for a release, but I do hope there are more to come! The range includes a mix of face, eye and lip brushes, all made from cruelty free, synthetic hairs - just like I like! Now lets get on with talking about the individual brushes!

F2 Stippling Brush
(£3)
This is a smaller sized stipple brush, which if you watch my latest haul video (link) you'll be able to see is pretty much the same size as the ELF Small Stipple Brush. Although I'd actually say this is sturdier and works a touch better for applying product. As it's on the smaller side I find this to work best with cream highlights and bronzer. A very useful brush!

E3 Blending and Shadow Brush
(£1.95)
Until I picked up this brush, I only had one crease/blending brush that I really liked. But unluckily it came as part of a make-up set so wasn't really practical to repurchase. However things have changed now as this is a really good crease brush. Applies and blends product really nicely. I may have to purchase another one...

E4 Eyeliner Brush
(£1.50)
This eyeliner brush is the style that I usually really like, being a fine pointed, paint brush style brush. But I'm not sure about this one, it doesn't seem to be particularly firm. But for £1.50, this is pretty good. Especially considering you can hide the brush away inside itself, making it very portable!

E7 Eyebrow Brush
(£1.50)
Again cheap as chips, or maybe cheaper than! This works great as an eyebrow brush - or as an eyeliner brush. Whichever takes your fancy. But at this price you could just buy two and have one for each!

L1 Lip Brush
(£1.50)
Only one lip brush was released with the line, but it's a good'un so I'll forgive them! This is on the larger side, but still perfect for applying any type of lip product, but also really good for concealer as well. Again like the eyeliner brush, this folds away making it perfect to throw in your handbag! And if I may say, better than the ELF Retractable Lip Brush - sorry!

Of the ones I have only E4 & L1 fold away.

Sorry this is up a little late, I got a little (very!) distracted by the #bbloggers twitter chat. But I found a lot of lovely new blogs to follow! And gained some followers as well - hello and thanks for following! Anyway as always thanks for stopping by and I'll speak to you soon, Hannah

  2. Very interesting!!! I'm really looking forward to try them, but unfortunately the shipping cost to Italy would be more expensive than a whole set of brushes I'm afraid >_<

    1. That's rubbish! Although the brushes are super cheap, so maybe that makes up for the shipping cost?

  5. This is so exciting! I love make-up brushes but it usually costs so much to get a fair few, so glad MUA now do their own range! Glad I read this blog post - thank you! :)
