2012 In MakeUp - My Lip Favourites!

Yesterday I went through all my favourite face products from 2012 and I really hope you enjoyed it, but today is the turn of the lip products! In this post I go over some of my favourite formulas as well as talking you through some of my favourite colours. I really hope you see something you like, but it'd be great to hear what you've been loving as well!

Favourite Lipbalm: The Body Shop Natural Lip Roll-On
I'm not very loyal when it comes lipbalms, I tend to just use what's at hand, whether it's a lip smackers, chapstick or whatever else. But this particular one I put on before doing my make-up and it sinks in nicely ready for apply something over the top onto my softened lips!

Favourie Tinted Lipbalm: Sleek Pout Polish
Obsessed! I reach for this so much as it's a really wearable tinted balm. Great for softening the lips and to wear on those days where I can't really be bothered with a 'proper' lip product.

The Body Shop Lip Roll-On, Sleek Pout Polish

Favourite Lip Stain: GOSH Long Lasting Lip Marker
I discovered these getting on for a year ago now, but they're still a favourite. The pigmentation is great, but importantly stays put! I tend not too wear these on their own, but they make a fab base for a lipstick over the top. 17 also do some nice ones too! The shade here is Berry.

Favourite Lipstick Formula: ELF Matte Lip Colour
This was a hard one! But in the end I went with something that I wore the most! The colour range isn't huge here, infact rather pathetic (there's no pink!). But the ones the do have are gorgeous. And also being matte you'd think they'd look and feel dry - but that's absolutely not the case. You do get the benefit of them being really long lasting though! The shade here is Natural.

GOSH Lip Marker, ELF Matte Lip, MUA Gloss, MUA Lip Liner

Favourite Lip Liner: MUA Intense Colour Lipliner
I'd never really been a lip liner person before, thinking that it was an unnecessary step. But how wrong was I! These have really changed my opinion on the matter and I wear them pretty much all the time unless I'm testing the wear of something. These are nice and soft so apply smoothly, but not too soft that they smudge off. They stay put! The shade here is Red Drama.

Favourite Lipgloss Formula: MUA Intense Kisses Lipgloss
My favourite lipgloss formula this year by far. I really don't like sticky glosses, so thankfully for me this feels lovely and light on the lips. But nowadays we can get that a lot on the highstreet,. But what makes these a stand out formula to me is that it's really well pigmented. What you see is what you get - which is more often that not, not the case! The shade here is Stolen Kisses.

Favourite Pink Lipstick: BeautyUK Lipstick - Passion
I don't tend to wear pink lipstick nowadays as much as I used too. But one I've been liking is this beautiful one from BeautyUK, it has some slight coral tones too - I think this is going to be a great colour for spring! This formula is also a winner, definitely worth having a look at if you're in Superdrug!

Favourie Red Lipstick: ELF Matte Lip Colour - Rich Red
It was such a hard choice for this category, this year has been the year of the winged liner and red lip for me! I think I may have to do an updated post on my favourite red lip products, but for now I'm just going to tell you how beautiful this red shade is!

BeautyUK, ELF, BarryM, 17

Favourite Vampy Lipstick: BarryM Ultra Moisturizing Lip Paint - 162
Okay this isn't a particularly vampy shade, more of a deepened red. But I had to find a way to get this in here as I have been obsessed with it! If you want to see it on, I'm wearing it in my blog profile picture (top right). The pigmentation is insane, whilst giving a really pretty slightly glossy finish. I need to check some more shades out from this line!

Favourite Nude Lipstick: 17 Mirror Shine Lipstick - Beehive
There was a big deal made out of this lipstick a couple of years ago, back then I thought it was alright. But in the last year or so I've been really liking it. It's quite sheer, rather glossy and pretty moisturizing too, so actually I tend to use this as more of a lipbalm, but still really nice.

Favourite Pink Lipgloss: Barry M Lipgloss - 11
I need another one of these soon, I don't have a lot left! Again this doesn't have a sticky texture to it, so just the way I like it. But the best bit is that it really goes with pretty much anything. The colour I'd describe as strawberry milk and the scent lovely and fruity!

Favourite Red Lipgloss: ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick - Strawberry
Is this cheating? I'd say it's more of a lipgloss than a lipstick anyway! This one is a tad sticky though, which I'm not so fond of, but the colour is really great - perfect for those that want to dabble with red lips, but are too nervous to go to intense colour straight away!

ELF, Bourjois, BarryM

Favourite Nude Lipgloss: Bourjois Smile Perfecting Gloss - Beige
I think it's beige anyway, the colour's not actually written on the product. So this involved detective work! I keep saying it, but this is a light non-sticky formula, perhaps the best of the bunch and great for barely there, but wearable lips. As for the smile perfecting/tooth whitening effect? Rubbish in my eyes!

These posts sure do take a while to write, but I really hope you're finding them helpful! Tomorrow is the turn on my eyes section, it's a whopper! Anyway thanks as always for stopping by and I'll speak to you again soon, Hannah
