I've only been able to wear Nail Polish for the last few months, since leaving my job to return to Uni. But since then I've become just a little bit obsessed, I can really see what draws people in! So many finishes, colours and fancy things you can add to them. And then we have nail art too. It's just a whole new world! So recently when I saw a few people talking about cheap Essie Polishes over at
Fragrance Direct (link) I had to have a few for myself - and then picked some other brands up too, it only makes sense to at that price right?!
There's a video at the bottom too if you'd rather see the haul like that!
Essie Nail Lacquer's - To Buy or Not To Buy, Navigate Her, Mod Squad (£1.99 each)
To Buy or Not To Buy - This is a lovely slightly muted lilac shade with some subtle bright blue glitter running through it!
Navigate Her - I'm not entirely sure what urged me to buy this because as soon as I saw it I was like 'It's a bogey coloured nail polish'. But to put it more politely it's a cream finished pastel yellowed green!
Mod Squad - A pretty standard pink, if there's such a thing! Similar in the bottle to 2True's Fast Dry Polish in Shade 1 - let me know if you'd like a comparison!
Essie Nail Lacquer's - Power Clutch, Carry On (£1.99 each)
Power Clutch - These two are great autumn colours aren't they! This particular one is a khaki tinted grey. Very nice!
Carry On - A deep burgundy red shade, this one is very similar to Barbara Daly's Nail Polish in Potion. So again if you want to see them side by side for a cheaper dupe then let me know!
NYC Quick Dry Nail Polish - Chinatown (99p)
How could I resist this at under a pound! I've also really liked NYC's Polishes in the past so it didn't seem like too much of a gamble! This shade is a nice metallicy indigo shade. Again pretty suited to the season!
Essie Sensitivity Base Coat (£2.49)
My nails tend to be quite flaky with all this applying and removing polish. So I've taken to using the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails as a Base. But thought at this price I couldn't pass up on trying Essies version! Especially seeing as it's bright orange!
Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Nail Colour - Slick Slate (£1.49)
Sally Hansen's another brand that I've always been curious about and wanted to give a try. The first one I picked up is a medium purple toned grey from the Insta-Dry Collection. And if todays anything to judge by I'll be needing some of that speed! I'm writing this whilst cooking dinner and was taking my nail varnish of whilst doing research for uni earlier. It's getting mad already!
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Colour - Going Green (99p)
Again another Sally Hansen polish, I like to do the rounds with make-up, you know try a bit of this and a bit of that too! So when I noticed this bright, slightly metallic green polish I thought I'd give it a go!
Bourjois 1 Seconde Gel Polish - Bleu Water (£5.99)
I have one word for this - beautiful! It's a really pretty baby sky blue with a cream finish. I have actually done a NOTD of this already, so if you wanted to check that out you can see it on my nails here - link.
Bourjois So Lacque! Nail Enamel - Bleu fabuleux (£5.99)
As I say in the video Bourjois was on buy one get one half off when I stopped by. So it would be rude not to pick a second product up right? This one is a deeper, but still very bright blue shade, not quite a primary shade though!
W7 Mega Matte Lips - Red (£1.99)
I'm a massive fan of matte lips at the moment and also red lips. So this was just obvious when we thing about the price right? I'm a little gutted I bought this as Sleek have just released a bright red matte lipgloss. MAybe I'll just have to be naughty and get that one too, eek!
NYX Fabulous Lashes - 124 & 127 (£1.25)
Now if you're a regular follower you'll know that I rarely, if ever really wear false lashes. But seeing as these were so cheap I thought I'd pick a couple of pairs up to use in looks and tutorials. Might be fun right?
Real Techniques Core Collection Brush Set (£21.99)
I have been lusting after some Real Techniques brushes for ages now! Everyone seems to rave about them and they're also synthetic - which over 90% of my brushes are! First impressions are that they're very small (still have a long handle). But seem to work really well! A happy bunny indeed! I got these from Boots incase you were curious :) Contains - Detailer Brush, Pointed Foundation Brush, Buffing Brush, Contour Brush.
Thank you so much for staying with me through this - especially if you're not a big fan of nail polishes! I know there's a lot of polishes mentioned here, so if you wanted to actually see any of them on the nails then just let me know and I'll se what I can do ;) Thanks everyone for stopping by and I'll speak to you again soon, Hannah
