I recently heard about these fab new lipbalms from others here in the blogging world and I must say, they did tickle my fancy! So when I was given the opportunity to review one I jumped right on it, and I'm very glad I did as I'm a big fan and have been carrying it around ever since I got it! Anyway shall we get on with the review?
As always I've included a summary at the end :)
The Basics
This product is a new release from NYC, costing just £2.49, for a reasonable 3.5g of product. The packaging is on the cheaper side, but that doesn't really bother me to be honest as the product inside is what counts, especially at such a value price. As far as I know there's at least 4 shades available, possibly more! They are available from Semichem (link)
The Formula
These have quite a light texture to them, definitely not waxy and not really what I'd call greasy either - but maybe a touch. Being called Appleicious it wouldn't be complete without a lovely apple scent, which for those interested, you can't taste! I wouldn't say it's the most moisturizing product, but it's reasonable. However since it's in an easy format and gives some colour too the lips too.
Colour & Finish
Talking of the colour it's a glossy pink shade. The pigmentation is also pretty good, which was a nice surprise as often tinted balms can be quite sheer. But this one is great for a glossy, buildable finish. Winner!
The Good - cheap, buildable, smells like apples, not in a tub so you can use it with dirty hands!
The Not so Good - packaging looks a little cheap (but remember it is cheap!).
Would I repurchase? Oh definitely!
Price & Availability - £2.49, Semichem
Definitely has the seal of approval from me, it does make me crave apples though! I'm starting to see it as a similar product to the Sleek Pout Polishes - but one you don't have to stick your fingers in! Have you tried these yet? Hannah
