A few weeks ago I posted on these new tinted lipbalms from NYC and expressed my love for the one I had. Well as you can tell I couldn't resist but to pick up another one, this time a red shade. I do keep thinking it should be called 'Big Red Apple' though, but I assure you the name in the title is correct!
As always I've included a summary at the end :)
This product is a new release from NYC, costing just £2.49, for a reasonable 3.5g of product. The packaging is on the cheaper side, but that doesn't really bother me to be honest as the product inside is what counts, especially at such a value price. As far as I know there's at least 4 shades available, possibly more!
These have quite a light texture to them, definitely not waxy and not really what I'd call greasy either - but maybe a touch. Being called Appleicious it wouldn't be complete without a lovely apple scent, which for those interested, you can't taste! I wouldn't say it's the most moisturizing product, but it's reasonable. However since it's in an easy format and gives some colour too the lips too it's great to pop into your bag.
Colour & Finish
These do have quite a glossy finish to them, but not as intense as a lipgloss is going to give you! The colour is a pinky red, which on first swipe it pretty sheer, but it's a very buildable product and can be built up to have a reasonably strong colour. The colour is also non-shimmery!
The Good - smells nice, buildable colour, can apply direct from the tube, smells good!
The Not so Good - cheap looking packaging.
Would I repurchase? I already have!
Price & Availability - £2.49, Superdrug
NYC tends to be one of the brands that I've overlooked in the past. But gradually I've been trying a few products from them and actually I'm generally liking what I see! I hope you liked the review! Hannah
