Review + Swatches: MUA Ultimate Brow Kit

MUA have been bringing out so many products recently that I've been struggling to get reviews up for everything without boring you with the same brand over and over. We're getting there though! Todays offering is of this neat little brow kit that I've been testing recently. I do need a good brow product as my eyebrows are effectively invisible - just check out some of my oldest FOTD's for proof!

As always I've included a summary at the end :)

The Basics
This is a new product from MUA, inside you get... 3 different coloured powders, a clear wax/gel, small tweezers and a double ended angled applicator. Not bad considering this costs just £3.50! Inside there's also a reasonably sized mirror, and they way it opens is very sleek - you'll see what I mean if you ever see one, but words for me cannot explain it! In total you get 5.9g of product, which is pretty good!

The Formula
Powders... These have a pretty good pigmentation to them as the swatches show. Application is also pretty good, although I tend to find the brushes supplied are rather fiddly - as are the tweezers! I do find that if I wear this all day (+10 hours) without touch-ups it can get slightly faded and patchy, but perhaps using a primer underneath could help!

Gel... I'm personally more of a fan of tinted gels, but this one applies alright and does keep my brows in check. However it leaves my brows looking really glossy, which I don't really like, powder didn't seem to make much of a difference.

Top Right Shade

The Colours
Included is three colours, the lighter of which is supposed to be a highlight colour, but it's way to dark on me for that! It's also quite orangey toned and matte? The other two shades that are meant for brows are much better though, you get a dark matte brown and a lighter taupe shade, both with a slight warm tone.

The Good - good allrounder, cheap, value, good packaging, brow powders are nice.

The Not so Good - highlight shade would be better on the eyebrows (I actually thought it was a brow powder until I read it!), gel/wax leaves my brows looking shiny.

Would I repurchase? I'm not sure, it's fab value, but I think I'm still hooked on my holy grail MUA Eyebrow Pencil in Blonde!

Price & Availability - £3.50, Superdrug & MUA's Website

So although not my favourite brow product (that's their eyebrow pencil), it's actually really rather good for the price and great for those just getting into make-up as it has everything you need for brows! Stay tuned for an upcoming post on my favourite MUA products coming soon! Thanks everyone, Hannah
