Review: Glossybox November 2012

Every month once I've shown you whats in my Glossybox as well as the value of the products I like to give a mini review of each product. That way those that can't/don't get the subscription can read a little bit about my opinions on various products. So hopefully this is something that will be of interest to a variety of people. But do let me know if you hate this and if I get an overwhelming 'hate it' response than I'll give it the axe in future! This months theme was Stocking Stuffers - although I'm not 100% that reflects in the items!

What's in this months box?
Ayuuri Indian Rose Face Cream (200ml)
Burberry Body Eau de Parfum (4.5ml)
Alison Claire Natural Beauty Mango Body Butter (50ml)
Nails Inc Caviar Top Coat (4ml)
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (13g)

Ayuuri Indian Rose Face Cream (200ml)

What they say? These Ayurvedic face creams moisturize your skin without leaving it feeling greasy. The beautiful Indian rose cream contains jasmine and aloe vera to keep the skin moist and protect it from aging elements.

What do I think? At first I said that the size of this made me see it as more of a body lotion. And that still stands. But I do think it works quite nice on the face too - so maybe more multi purpose! It's probably too soon to say anything to strongly about the effects, but I don't seem to be having dry skin which I'm prone to at this time of year. Also a little goes a long way and sinks in nicely with a slightly fresh/floral scent.

Ayuuri Indian Rose Face Cream

Burberry Body Eau de Parfum (4.5ml)

What they say? An effortlessly sensual, feminine fragrance with an eclectic combination of green absinthe, rose and cashmeran.

What I think! As far as I was aware Absinthe was an alcoholic drink, I may be very wrong! Scent descriptions aren't my strong point. But according to this website (link) it has topnotes of peach, green absinthe and freesia. Personally I see it as a little sophisticated, but also nothing particularly special.

Alison Claire Natural Beauty Mango Body Butter (50ml)

What they say? A delicious blend of organic mango and cocoa butters will leave your skin feeling wonderful.

What I think! I love this product, definitely my favourite of the products in the box (although there is competition!). It has a beautiful scent, which considering I hate mangoes is pretty good going! The texture is great too, nice and moisturizing but light at the same time, lovely!

Nails Inc Caviar Top Coat (4ml)

What they say? 3 Nails Inc best sellers including traffic stopping brights and the award winning Caviar Top Coat.

What I think! So as you can see there was a choice of three colours and I got the topcoat. My second clear nail polish from Glossybox, I never get any of the fun colours! The polish is nice and although rose tinted applies clear to the nails, drying nice and quickly. Not particularly exciting, but certainly useful.

Nails Inc Caviar Top Coat

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (13g)

What they say? A unique rice-based powder that gently exfoliates skin, leaving it noticeably smoother and brighter.

What I think! My second favourite product in the box! I've been lucky to receive Dermalogica the last two months and I'm unfortunately getting a taste for the rather pricey brand! This microexoliant is a powder product infused with rice enzymes. You mix with a little water and massage into the face. Despite the unusual format I got on with it really well and my face felt so clean after using!

Overall I'm pretty happy with this months box, although it would be nice to see more make-up based items and less skincare! For those that were wondering this months box had a £23.22 value costing £12.95 (including postage), so not bad value for money, but on the lower side compared to other months. Thanks for stopping by, Hannah

  3. Glad I've switched from JolieBox to this one, was really pleased with mine- I got the same only the Dr Jart BB cream instead of the face cream. Though I have to say I was hoping for Porchester Square instead of the topcoat- been wanting to try that for ages now!
