Review: ELF 3-in-1 Mascara

Evening everyone! You may remember at the beginning of the month I posted a haul and showed you guys this new mascara from ELF? Well I've now had plenty of testing time and today have a review of it for you. Mascara can be one of those things that causes differing opinions, but to help you make an opinion on this one, I have quite long and curly lashes and generally look for something really black that gives good volume!

As always I've included a summary at the end :)

The Basics
What attracted me to this product is the shape of the brush, it looks super similar to the Benefit They're Real Mascara one. But I'm far to stingy to fork out for a mascara at that price so decided to go with this one! The ELF mascara has a silicone brush, which usually I'm not so keen on, but actually this seems to work well. I can't see any info on how much products inside, but it's a pretty standard sized bottle coming in just the shade 'very black' on the UK site, for £3.75.

What did I think?
First off lets talk about this wand! It has a 'normal' part with smaller sized bristles and then at the tip of the wand be have a sphere with some bristles on too. It works really great for getting into the corners of the eye and making sure all the lashes are coated. I do find that the mascara gives a slight curl and length and also a bit of volume. Although not as much as I like. It is a really rich black mascara though, that I haven't found to smudge at all or make my lashes super clumpy. So although not amazing, it's alright.

The Good - cheap, very black, doesn't smudge on me, not particularly clumpy, interesting and helpful brush!

The Not so Good - didn't wow me in terms of length, volume or curl - but gave a nice naturally enhanced look.

Would I repurchase? Probably not, but it's alright.

Price & Availability - £3.75, ELF's Website

For those of you wondering, my too favourite mascaras are the Too Faced Lash Injection and 17 Peep Show. One being a lot cheaper than the other! And both unfortunately on their last legs! Feel free to share you're favourite, I'd love to hear! And I'll speak to you again soon, Hannah

  1. Looks pretty good, I'm loving Loreal Volume Million Lashes at the moment. Bit on the pricey side but really helps to chunk up my sparse lashes!

    1. I've never actually tried that one, but everyone seems to rave about it!

  2. Looks okay but not impressive. I am looking for a mascara that could add volume to my lashes. I used to have thin lashes so I make sure that I use the one that could add volume. I guess I have to pass on this one.

  4. Maybelline the falsies every time :)It gives me length and volume and eaves your lashes still soft and fluttery not some crispy horrible mess.

I've tried some pretty expensive ones e.g. Chanel inimitable intense too but none are as good.

I do like Benefit's they're real but i don't think it's worth that amount of money really. It lengthens but doesn't thicken much.

    1. Thanks for the heads up on the Benefit mascara, not that I was likely to spend that amount of money on it! But it's definitely stopped me wanting to try it so much!
