October 2012 Loves!

Back to the favourites again! For me this month has just whizzed past at super sonic speed! And now we're getting into the cold weather, it was freeeezing yesterday here! It's also the month of my birthday, so November is a good month for me! Before we know it, it'll be 2013! I always love the start of a new year! But enough rambing and on with what I've been loving this month!

PS If you scroll down to the bottom there's a video version of my favourites if you prefer watching to reading!

The Body Shop Watermelon Body Lotion

(£4, The Body Shop)
I'm one of those people that buys body lotions because they smell amazing, but then forget about them sat on the shelf! This month I've decided it's about time I started using some of them as all they're doing is gathering dust and I do actually really like them! This particular one is quite strongly scented, very fruity and does the job of softening my skin.

Dermalogica Clean Start Purifying Toner
(£12.30 fullsize, Dermalogicas Website)
This toner is a mini size which I got in my glossybox, but you can buy it in the little kit I had too if you follow the link above (£12). I wasn't to fussed when I saw this as I don't really use toners, but actually this one completely wowed me. Even after washing my face and my face appearing to be clean, this still picked product up! Which is quite something!

MUA Cream Blush - Blossom
(£2, MUA's Website & Superdrug)
I like wearing bright blushes, but when it comes to shades I'll pick up again and again it's always much more understated shades. This particular one is fabulous as it leaves me with a natural colour coupled with a dewy finish. The bonus is that it's cheap and lasts for ages if set with a powder. Stay tuned as I have one of these to giveaway soon!

Milani Eyeshadow - Antique Gold
(Discontinued - it was a TK Maxx buy!)
As I said I got this as part of a set from TK Maxx, but my American subscribers tell me it's discontinued. However the Accessorize Silk Baked Eyeshadow in Chloe is very similar. Both being khaki/olive greens with golden sheens to them. Both are just really easy for a one colour look when I'm in a hurry!

Real Techniques Buffing Brush

(£21.99 as part of a set, Boots)
I finally got around to picking up some real techniques brushes and I must say it was definitely worth the price. The quality is really great and synthetic, which is my favourite! I've found it worked really well for powder and blush, but I've heard it's good with foundation too - don't quote me on that though!

MUA Professional Eye Primer
(£2.50, MUA's Website & Superdrug)
This is actually a product I've been using for ages, but never got around to fully reviewing although if anyone wants one I can get one up as it really is a good product. In my eyes being interchangeable with my beloved Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but a much cheaper option!

And that's this months favourites, not a lot of make-up really as I haven't actually bought much this month! However if you check out the video you can have a look at some amazing (and cheap) wax tarts that I've been obsessed with this month! What have you been loving this month? Hannah

  3. Nice post :) definitely going to have to check out the cream blush from MUA! How is it you apply it? Not much experience with cream blushes, they usually end up smearing my foundation off or just look like a block of colour :/ any help would be great! :)

    1. This particular one I apply using a paddle shaped foundation brush in a kind of patting blending motion. But usually with other cream blushes I find a stipple blush works well in a patting motion. I hope that helps!

    1. Thanks Rachel :) I had the same problem with my Superdrug, I tend to just buy my MUA stuff online when they have offers on - which is pretty often!
