Recently I've been a little naughty with my make-up shopping, but who can blame me with all these amazing releases attacking us from every angle! I just wanted to put a (not so!) small post together and share with you guys some of these newly released gems and possibly hint at some first impressions. As usual with hauls I've filmed a video (which actually includes a couple of brushes I haven't mentioned here) to accompany - I get very excited over the palettes in it too!
MUA Mega Volume Mascara - Waterproof
(£2, Superdrug & MUA's Website)
Thought I'd start with the two new mascara's here, both very cheap! This one however I'm not so fond off as volume is definitely not something it gives for me! The stopper around the top is way too tight and succeeds in taking most of the product off - the wand looks like it would work a treat otherwise!
MUA (pink) & ELF Mascaras
ELF 3-in-1 Mascara
(£3.75, ELF's Website)
This one I like a lot better, the wand is great for getting into nooks and crannies of your eyelashes. And talk about super black! It doesn't have the worlds best volume powers, but it brings something to the party whilst giving some good definition too! If you wanted to see this mascara in action, I wore it in yesterdays FOTD - link.
MUA Lipgloss & ELF Matte Lip Colour
MUA Sheer Finish Lipgloss - Happy Days
(£1, Superdrug & MUA's Website)
Another new product from MUA and okay most people like to have their gloss pigmented. But having a few sheer ones is something that I quite like to have for when I want to add gloss without altering my lipstick colour too much! This particular one is non-sticky, super cheap and actually rather pretty on the lips! Fruity scented too!
ELF Matte Lip Colour - Tea Rose
(£3.75, ELF's Website)
I LOVE the matte lip colours ELF does as they're pigmented and long lasting - need I ask more? So on my recent order I decided to pick up another shade, this one is similar to Natural, but has some more mauve tones and a touch darker too.
Nail Polishes
MUA Mystical Glitter Nails - Seahorse
(£2.50, Superdrug & MUA's Website)
New Nail Polishes are always exciting! This one is really pretty, but will take a few coats to be opaque, so maybe best as a top coat, but as a bonus it does dry really quickly!
MUA Nail Varnish - Pistachio Ice Cream
(£1, Superdrug & MUA's Website)
I've been looking for a beautiful mint green for now and I think this one has hit the mark for me! I'm planning on putting this on my nails tomorrow so expect to see a NOTD anytime soon with this one! But I've swatched it on my nail wheel and it seemed to be opaque with one coat so I'm excited!
ELF Nail Polish - Fairy Dust
(£2.50, ELF's Website)
I wasn't too sure how this would look in real life as the pictures on the website didn't seem too hot, but actually this is a stunner! It's a multi-coloured shredded glitter polish held in a clear polish and looks different in different lights, can't wait to get this on my nails!
The Eyeshadows
ELF Baked Eyeshadow - Burnt Plum
(£3.75, ELF's Website)
Here in the UK we're slowly getting a trickle of some of the new products from the US site, I'm hoping the HD Blushes follow soon as they look amazing! I did see a tweet saying there'd be some more new things in a few weeks, so keep your fingers crossed for the product you want to see! As for this one it's nice and pigmented, typical pearly finish of baked products, but not really plum!
MUA Trio Eyeshadow - Smoke Screen
(£2.50, Superdrug & MUA's Website)
I got this one free as part of a deal they had going on when I ordered online. But without being mean I'm not too convinced by it so quite happy I didn't part with any money to get it! But I haven't tried using it wet yet. so hopefully that will give me some more colour payoff!
ELF Highlight and Brow Kit (a little washed out)
ELF Studio Eyebrow Kit - Ash
(£3.75, ELF's Website)
So I probably don't need another eyebrow product, especially considering I already have 2 sat in my 'to review' box. I just need to get my butt into gear and write the reviews! I haven't tried this yet, but on the surface it does look pretty good and a good colour match for me. The set includes a tinted wax and pressed powder.
ELF Studio Blush - Gotta Glow
(£3.75, ELF's Website)
So not actually a blush, this is actually a highlight shade with a golden glow. I've been on a bit of a highlighter kick recently, mainly using ones I already had, but I picked this one up as I have a lack of powder highlighters! Although I have been known to just use eyeshadows too!
Urban Decay Vice Palette
Urban Decay Vice Palette
(£42, Debenhams)
Just FYI this is currently 10% off at Debenhams, which for a pricey palette it quite nice. But how beautiful are these colours - that blue is insane! I haven't included any swatches here as that'll need a post all to itself, but in the video at the bottom I've swatched a few of them for you. There are a couple of duds in the palette, but generally the quality we'd expect from Urban Decay! I'm hoping to do some looks/tutorials with this palette so let me know if there's anything you'd like to see!
Too Faced Bon Bons Palette
Too Faced Shadow Bon Bons Palette
(£33, ASOS)
There's a bit of a story behind this, which is going to take up all my room here, but I blab on about how I accidentaly (no lies!) bought this palette in the video - again with some swatches! I wore this for the first time today and I think the shadows are nice, kinda like a girly nude palette with the usual nude shades but with some subtle pinks and purples too. You also get a mini Shadow Insurance in Candlelight and a fullsize Lashgasm Mascara - which for the record I don't like!
I definitely need to keep my card in my purse for a while now, but I've got a lot to play with and review for you guys! Hopefully you guys have seen some new things that you like the look off and of course let me know if you had any questions, want a review or to see the products on. And as always thanks for stopping by, Hannah

That Vice palette keeps calling to me, but am soooo strapped for cash right now it's stupid.
ReplyDeleteLoving the Elf Fairy Dust polish, all purdy and shiny.
Maybe something for the Christmas list? x
DeleteGreat haul, i love too faced palette!
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty isn't it!
DeleteI'd love to try Urban Decay shadows, maybe I'll get lucky at Christmas! Loving the Elf polish, looks really different. I wasn't too keen on the colour of Tea Rose but the formula was great! I'm trying a Elf mascara at the moment too, the mineral one, it gives a nice natural defined effect but I do prefer more volumising ones.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the mineral mascara before - doesn't quite sound my cup of tea though!
DeleteLove the green MUA polish x

I'm getting loads from elf for chrismas, and I think there are blushers and lipliners in with it, so hopefully I think as highly of it as you do!
