So if you've been following my blog since the beginning of the year you may know that I'm challenging myself to use up some of my make-up this year. I get a weird sense of satisfaction when I manage to finish things up. Kinda like a 'I managed to finish that all by myself!' but it's always helpful for you guys to share my thoughts along the journey as a finished product has more stories to tell! These three mascaras bring this years total upto 11 and I have a couple of things teetering on the edge of being done!
17 Falsifeye Mascara
(£6.49, Boots)
I thought we ought to start with the best, as from here it goes dramatically downhill! But you'll be pleased to hear this is one of my favourite mascaras of all time - it has super impressive effects on my lashes and I'd been holding onto this one for a while for sentimental values really. But its rather dried out now so time to go! Talking of that, I don't follow the three month rule, which is my choice so please don't tell me I'm ruining my eyes or anything please. I mean, you don't throw away eyeliners after three months and they go just as close!
Would I repurchase?
Yes! Although I'd get it in Black next time, I had it in Brown Black which was quite as intense as I'd like!
MUA £1 Mascara
(£1, Superdrug & MUA's Website)
Yes they actually call it that! I wasn't much of a fan of this one, I actually just picked it up as a bargain option for my £20 make-up challenge. But if you have more to spend with a 17 one they're generally really good. The formulas just rather dry and barely gives a coating to the lashes.
Would I repurchase?
No, sorry.
Accessorize Flutter Curl Mascara
(Discontinued - I think!)
I think this mascara only saw the ligt of day a couple of times as it was super dry and just left my lashes looking aweful. This seems to be a common problem with their mascara's actually the last one I tried was equally as dry. I'm not sure what urged me to buy a curling mascara as my lashes are curly enough as it it and besides curling is the job of curlers right?
Would I repurchase?
Nope.
Apologies if this post seemed a little negative, but I hope it was helpful to some of you guys. I plan on doing a little something on my favourite mascaras in the not too distant future so if you're a mascara girl stay tuned for that! Thanks for stopping by, Hannah

I have tha mua mascara...and i cant complainabt it as it is one pound..i do agree with u..i wont purchase it again...have a lovely weekend ...
ReplyDeleteFor one pound you can't complain too much, but it's still one pound I could have spent elsewhere!
DeleteLove to see a post with your favourite mascaras. I am loving the new Loreal volume million lashes excess mascara. It's fantastic but I do love cheaper ones too like Collection s skyscraper and 17 wild curls.
ReplyDeleteDo you know that 17 one is one of the only ones I haven't tried from them. Glad to hear it's also really good!
Deletegreat post! i love to read reviews about mascaras as it's not easy to find one that works for you, they can be really hit and miss! I usually really like the Max Factor ones. I dont have curly lashes like you so have to curl them beforehand, and then need a mascara formula that isnt heavy on them or they will droop down again with the weight.hope that makes sense?! xx
ReplyDeleteTotally makes sense :)
