Review + Swatches: Sleek Truely Mattely Deeply Matte Lipgloss - Jazz

So I reviewed the palettes that came with this collection (Shangri-La) a couple of weeks ago. But you know how it is, when I'm not that found of a product, the review takes little longer to appear as I put off properly testing it! But I've spend the last couple of days fully putting this to the test and letting you know my thoughts. But for the record, I don't hate it, but it's certainly a love hate product

As always I've included a summary at the end :)

The Basics
This along with the rest of the Shangri-La collection is limited edition, so if you like the look of it, you better snap it up quick! It comes in quite a small tube, but actually holds a very reasonable 5ml of product. As the name suggests this is matte finish product, coming in this red shade, but also a pale pink named Soul - I haven't got this to review though as it's not quite my colour!

The Formula
This has a very thick texture to it, to me it's similar to a lipgloss that had cornflour fully mixed into it, sounds totally weird. But it's not so bad! It still applies reasonably well, but don't rub your lips together as it'll mess the finish up a little! Once set (30 mins or so) it will last hours hours and hours - at least 5, but usually more in my experience. But avoid licking your lips as it can lead the finish to become bobbly - kinda like your favourite woollen jumper!

Colour & Finish
This is a very bright slightly orange toned red. Which as we've already mentioned has a matte finish - a very dry matte finish! You have to be careful with it and not rub too much as it can lead the finish to become uneven - not a look I'd go for!

The Good -bright, pigmented, cheap, really long lasting.

The Not so Good - the texture can be very unforgiving, limited edition.

Would I repurchase?  Probably not, although the pigement and longevity are insanely good I just can't get over the texture - like I said it's a love hate product!

Price & Availability - £4.99, Superdrug & Sleek's Website.

It's a saturday night tonight and I'm sat in blogging whilst trying to play scrabble. You wouldn't think I was a student would you, obviously one of the kool kids! Anyway the boards a new purchase so it needs a test run! As always I hope you enjoyed the post and I'll speak to you again soon, Hannah

    1. I prefer the ELF lip stains to this, similar in idea. But the ELF one has a much much easier formula to work with and to wear! Ooo the Matte Lip Pencils, they're fab, enjoy!
