NOTD: BarryM Web Effect Nail Polishes (AKA Halloween under £5!)

Last week I made a quick trip into town to pick up the new Sleek Shangri-La Collection among other things and noticed this cute little Halloween Polish sitting on the Barry M stand. I was a bit dubious of the web effect claims, but my boyfriend urged me to get it and give it a go. And as you can tell I didn't say no and although it's not what I'd call web effect, it sure is a a pretty orange crackle top coat!

The Basics
This is available from Superdrug for just £3.99, which is a perfect price for something that seems a little gimmicky! This is designed as a top coat to be used over another nail polish - black being perfect for this time of year! The product is limited edition, so if you want to get your hands on it then you'll need to head down the shops soon!

NYC Expert Last Nail Polish - Classy Glassy (clear)

What did I think?
Although this doesn't quite live upto it's claims it's still a stunning nail varnish. And I've actually really been loving it paired with a black. It's quite striking and very appropriate for October! As for the application, it's best applied over a not quite dry base colour. This way you get the best cracks and very nice ones at that! Although it's not the most pigmented shade. You'll also probably want to add a clear top coat to seal it all in and to feel more smooth on your nails.

Well that's my Halloween nails sorted then! And just autumn generally really! It's also made me want to try out some of the other crackle polishes Barry M has to offer! Anyway do let me know if there's any other halloween posts/tutorials (nail or make-up) that you'd like to see! And I'll speak to you soon, Hannah

  2. According to their FB page, it's free when you buy any two Barry M items. The Superdrug Bus is coming to my town on Friday, and I wanted to grab the lip paint in either 52 or 62 (Candy Yum Yum dupes) so I suppose I'll just have to pick something else up as well. Tough life!
