I think coffee is one of those love it/hate it things. Personally I'm on the hate it team, I'm much more of a tea girl! But I still wanted to give this a go and share it with you all, but I think the extra of what I made will be making it's way to my mum when I see her next week! But regardless of what I think of the smell I have to admit it did work reasonably well.
You will need -
- A small tub/jar to hold the finished product
- Pestle & Mortar (optional)
- A tablespoon
- Coffee - 2 Tbsp (I used instant)
- Sugar - 1 Tbsp
- Olive Oil - 2 Tbsp
Step 1
Take you coffee and grind it slightly in your Pestle & Mortar if you don't have one then try bashing it with your spoon. Or just opt for a coarser scrub!
Step 2
Put your coffee in the jar and add in the sugar. Then give them a little mix around.
Step 3
Then all you need to do is mix in your oil. If it's to thin/thick for your liking then you can adjust it by adding more oil/sugar/coffee. Then you just need to get in the shower and use your scrub! One thing to remember is that it's coffee so can potentially stain things, so be careful.
What do the ingredients do for the skin?
Coffee - Acts as an exfoliator. Also the caffeine in it is a natural inflammatory which helps with dark circles. As well as some research that says it can help reduce the look of cellulite. More info can be found here (link)
Sugar - Acts as an exfoliator to remove dead skin.
Olive Oil - Moisturizes and softens the skin.
Some people are sensitive to certain ingredients so if your worried it's probably best to swap something else for it instead!
I hope you liked this weeks Beauty Bites and maybe give it a go. I'd love to hear how you get on with it if you give it a go, but have fun with it! Thanks for stopping by and reading the post. Good luck, Hannah
