As I mentioned I'm in the process of moving house at the moment, which is a bit manic having just come back from holiday! But that's how life is! But that brings me around to today's post! For ages I have had a lot of Venomous Cosmetics Pressed Eyeshadow pans sat in a dish on top of my make-up drawers, but that's not very easy to move with so I needed to make a simple home for them and decided to make this simple palette instead of forking out for a Z Palette! I hope you enjoy!
What do you need?
- An Empty CD Case
- Double Sided Tape
- A Pair of Scissors
- And of course your Eyeshadow Pans!
Step 1
To start with you'll need to remove any stickers from your CD Case if it's a reused one. Then you'll need to remove the piece of plastic that holds the CD in - I found that it just popped out with my fingers! And keep the case open for the next step...
Step 2
If you have a preference for how your shadows are laid out in your palette organise them on your work surface. Then cut off a small piece of double sided tape and press it onto the back of the pan. Give it a good rub to help it stick onto the back. And then peel the other side off of the tape - this can be the trickiest part! Once you've managed to do that all you need to do is stick it into you're CD case - leave a gap on the left side as once closed the lid won't cover your shadows!
And you're done! Not the most beautiful palette - but you could jazz it up a bit and very easy to make. I hope you enjoyed the quick how-to post, sorry for not doing a video, but with moving I really don't have the time at the moment - but I can make a video on it once I've moved if you're interested? But thank you for stopping by, H :)

This is seriously the best idea I've seen on the internet in months. THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a lovely comment Blauriche, really appreciate it :)

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, glad it helped :)
DeleteEmpty DVD cases work, too. The only disadvantage is that you can't see through them, but they also hold more.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the input, I think I prefer CD cases personally as you can remove the bit that holds the disk!
DeleteI tried this with a original 15 MAC palette but it didnt work with the magnets. So great idea, def. going to try this!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck and have fun!
DeleteWhat a great idea! You should market it somehow and patent the idea. Make smaller cases, also, for those of us who don't have as many shadows, blushes, etc.!! Happy new house!
ReplyDeleteI know they're a little old school now, but you could try using a cassette case to hold less shadows?
DeleteAwesome!!! the best way to create what I need and not what I want...Thank you
