As I'm writing this it is the middle of the night, I've had a bit of an eventful day and am having a bit of trouble sleeping. Lifes fine though don't worry. But it means I can write some reviews for you guys, although it won't be posted as I'm writing it, but at a more normal time of day as I better read through this when more with it! But anyway it's time for another Lip Boom review again, I hope you enjoy!
As always I've included a summary at the end :)
The Basics
These lip duos come with a lipstick and lipgloss in complementary colours. They can be worn in four ways,
each side on it's own, layered or with just a small amount of gloss
highlighting the lipstick. My favourite ways to wear them are layered or
the lipstick alone though! In total there are 8 different colours available, in shades to suite everyone - reviews of the rest are coming! As for how much product you get, there's 2.5g lipstick and 3.5ml of lipstick. You can also pull the end of the lipstick end which gives some more lipstick!
The Lipstick
When this first arrived in the post it scared me a little - I thought I had bought myself a brown lipstick! It even has a warm tone to it but is on the more nudey side. But I gave it the benefit of the doubt and to my surprise it really didn't look too bad and warmed up my complexion. As for the formula it isn't to dry in texture and I haven't experienced any drying on my lips whilst wearing it. But it doesn't have a 100% matte finish to it, almost there though! I've mentioned in previous Lip Boom reviews that I've has issues with these settling into the creases, but with this more nudey shade it's not as bad and lasts closer to 3 hours!
The Lipgloss
The lipgloss is a great addition to these lipstick as they are sheer allowing the lipstick colour to show through. This particular shade has some gold and orangey copper glitter in it which is not too in your face and adds some extra dimension to the lips. You can feel it slightly on the lips, but the particle size in this particular one isn't too big like some of the others are. But like the others is non sticky with a lovely vanilla scent to it. Being non-sticky means it isn't the longest lasting, again getting 2-3hours wear, but livens up the lipstick!
The Good - 2 in 1, can wear four ways, smells nice (vanilla), lots of colour choices, glitter is more subtle and wearable in this one.
The Not so Good - could be a little longer lasting on the lips, no bright pinks!!
Would I repurchase? I'm undecided on this shade, we'll have to see how much it's used! Lip Booms in general get a yes though!
Who might like it? Those that prefer the more brown toned nude shades.
The Bottom Line - The colour was a nice unsuspected surprise, but the quality's also nice and not too glittery!
It's so nice to be back to blogging properly and not just uploading prewritten posts! But hopefully you didn't notice too much that I wasn't here! I'm seriously behind with my video watching on Youtube though! Anyway I hope you enjoyed this review and aren't fed up of the Lip Boom reviews yet, I have some exciting shades still to show you!
But mostly thank you all for stopping by and as always I hope you enjoyed the post. Thanks again, H :)
