Review + Swatches: Collection 2000 Extreme Felt Tip Liner - Black

AKA Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Black, but that's just a stupidly long name! The mile long name aside, this is actually a really great product, much like a lot of the Collection 2000 products! Recently I've been trying a lot of Felt Tip style liners in the hope to find a replacement for my favourite, but discontinued Eyeko Graffiti Felt Tip Liner. And so far this is the one that's come the closest! Available from Boots & Superdrug for £2.99, - thanks to my lovely subscribers for correcting me!

As always I've included a summary at the end :)

The Basics
As the name suggests these a pen style liner, with a secure fitting lid which in my experience has prevented drying for nearly a year in other shades I have. Talking of the other colours, theres a Teal, Blue and Purple as well as the Black I'm reviewing here. The nib on them is narrow enough to get a fine line, but with more pressure a thicker line can be achieved as well, I do find that it can leak a little though, with some product getting on my hands, but soap and water does the trick for removal! And to let you know I haven't tested the 24 hour claim!

The Formula
I just wanted to quickly start with saying that Collection's website states that these liners aren't suitable for contact lense wearers. That aside, these glide nicely onto the eye, drying down nicely and also lasting the whole day through. Although there is a little fading, touching up works well if you feel the need to.  I find that it is moderately waterproof, I don't get any streaks, but a little fading happens, so for me this is an upper lashline liner! As for removal at the end of the day I don't have a problem with my normal cleanser.

Colour & Pigmentation
This is obviously a black liner, but has a lot of pigmentation to it, making it a very intense one. It also has a slight sheen to it, which hopefully is coming across in the swatch. But on the eye transforms to a more matte finish as the day goes on. This doesn't bother me, but I wanted to mention it incase anyone was interested! To go back to my favourite Eyeko one, the colour and pigmentation is very comparable - a dupe. But the lasting power isn't quite as good, but close!

The Good - pigmented, cheap, value, good nib, good lasting power but removes nicely, hasn't dried out on me in nearly a year (my other colours - I haven't had the black that long!)

The Not so Good - mine does leak a little ink around the nib which gets on my hands a bit.

Would I repurchase? Yes! A good replacement for my Eyeko one. Infact I have and use all but the purple one, whoops!

Who might like it? Those that want pigmented and lasting liner that's easy to apply. Great for winged liner as well!

The Bottom Line -  Love this stuff! I use it for anything from a thin line to extreme winged liner and everything inbetween. Lasting and easy to remove too!

So a pretty simple and everyday product at a cheap price. But something that really works and has become a staple in my routine, love it! I'm also loving their new Gel Liners (review) which are even more long lasting, but take a little more time to apply - but still really great! But anyway  hope you enjoyed the review and don't hesitate to ask me any questions you have, H :)

  1. Um, it's only £2.99 :)
I love this product too, it's so good. It lasts a full 24 hours, by the way, or more (I'm really bad at taking my make-up off in the evening)
