Top Picks: May 2012 Loves - with video!

And like I say every month, it's that time again! I know these types of posts overload the beauty blogging world at this time of month, but I always like to add mine into the pool as well! The monthly favourites are great posts to read to discover new products that you may not have heard of and could be loving! So that said lets get started!

  • Sleek Ultra Matts V2 - Darks
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Shadow Pencil - Sin
  • Vaseline Rosy Lips
  • Collection 2000 Lasting Colour Gel Liner - Black
  • Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation - 51
  • 17 Shine Control Pressed Powder
  • Yes to Carrots Deeply Revitalizing Body Scrub

Sleek Ultra Matts - V2 Darks
(£7, Superdrug and Sleeks Website)
This is a new release from Sleek, and a great one at that! It contains all matte shades which are pigmented and lasting with a good range in shades. I haven't included the brights one as I haven't reached for it as it's not as wearable for work which is what I spend my life doing! But very worth the price and can be used to create a variety of beautiful smoky eyes. Full review here!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil - Sin
(Debenhams, £14 for a full size)
I actually got this as part of a set - which I'll be reviewing later. But I was so excited to find these in the UK at a great price as I've been lusting after them for ages! And I wasn't disappointed, they last just like a regular shadow without a primer or any powder over the top! This particular colour is a great everyday shimmery champagne colour. But slightly warmer than the Sin eyeshadow! Price individually is rather steep though!

Collection 2000 Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner - Black
(Boots & Superdrug, £4.99)
This is a new release from Collection 2000 and I must say they've done a good'un! It's pigmented, creamy and long-lasting! The dip you can see in the jar is from less than a months use - which shows just how much I've been using it! I also have a Teal and Gold (good eyeshadow!) one which I've reviewed fully with the black one which you can find here

Vaseline Rosy Lips
(lots of places, ~£2.25)
I'll be honest here I was a bit of a lipbalm snob and didn't want to use Vaseline for years and years, but then I actually tried someone elses and realised it's not half bad stuff! It is more of a barrier product which helps to keep the natural moisture of lips in, but the Rosy one has some almond oil in it which can help moisturize the lips! But the main reason I've been using this so much is I love the feel of it on my lips!

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation - 51
 (Boots, £10.99)
I have a bit of a soft spot for the Bourjois foundations and their latest one didn't disappoint either! It has some colour correcting pigments in it to help give the skin a more even appearance, and it works! And does it whilst still giving you a normal looking face, with a nice natural finish. If you wanted to know more about it's colour correcting properties, then check out my review here.

17 Shine Control Pressed Powder
(Boots, £3.99)
This one I actually got free with a voucher from the Boots Card Machines, but after using it I would happily repurchase it again. It is effectively just a regular uncoloured powder (it says neutral). But it seems to have some powdered miracle in there as well. As it works like a dream! I'm not the oiliest person out there but this does prevent the afternoon sheen as I call it! Review coming soon!

Yes to Carrots Deeply Revitalizing Body Scrub
(possibly discontinued!)
I've had this scrub for about a year know and known just how much I loved it. But you know when you love something so much and it's on the pricier side you save it for special occasions? Well I was doing that, but very rarely using it so I just bit the bullet and have been using and loving it! It's very luxurious having the texture of body butter, but with the usual exfoliating particles of a scrub, leaving the skin silky soft and with a beautiful scent.

And that's it for today folks. For the next few days I'm very busy with my OH's parents visiting for the long weekend (and working everyday!). I have prewritten some posts for you all and hope to have the time to reply to comments. But please be patient if I'm a bit slower than usual.

But I hope you all have a great weekend too and the sun reappears for the occasion! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the post and video, H :)

I really appreciate all your lovely comments and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. But if you want a quick response try tweeting me, @MidnightViolet1 Thanks for reading my post, Hannah :)
