Recently I was discussing these lipsticks with a couple of my lovely subscribers and it reminded me that I had never actually reviewed them. But I truely love them - as you can see from the wear. So this is long overdue! But this is for you, you know who you are! But I hope you all enjoy the review and pictures - these are amazing lipsticks so it will be quite gushy haha!
As always I've included a summary at the end :)
The Basics
These lipsticks are available from Boots for £4.59, at the moment the website is only showing three shades, but if you go instore theres a pretty decent range of colours. I have four of them to share with you today! To me these are more like tinted balms in lipstick form, but I'll talk about the formula below... The packaging as you can see is pretty distinctive, which I like so I can find them easier in my lipstick drawer!
The Formula
As I said these are pretty much tinted lipbalms in a lipstick format. They feel like a smooth non-greasy, non-waxy balm and last like one as well. So not the longest lasting lipstick, but you'll get about 2 hours wear, which isn't too bad considering the style of lipstick they are! And the best bit is that you actually get some moisturization from them like a balm would too. The pigmentation is pretty sheer, but you can still definitely tell what colour they are, so here I actually really like the pigmentation and the slight gloss that comes with it!
The Colours!
Beehive - This is the one everyone raved about a while ago, so was the first I bought. It's a wearable pinky nude shade, I've used a lot which speaks a thousand words!
Flirtini - I've had this one for ages as well, it's a bright but sheered down magenta pink. It also has some subtle silver glitter running through it - very subtle on the lips!
Belle - This is for me is a better than the hyped beehive. It's deeper and has no pale pink tones to it. It's very similar to my natural lip colour, but just that bit better!
Purple Haze - My latest addition! It's similar to Flirtini, but without the glitter and some more purple tones thrown in there. Still very wearable and pink though, but definitely cool toned!
The Good - cheap, value, moisturizing, very wearable, kinda like tinted lipbalms in lipstick format - very handy! funky packaging!
The Not so Good - has a bit of a 'make-up' smell to it, lasts 2 hours.
Would I repurchase? Yes! I'm a massive tinted balm person and the ease of application these give make them a win win win for me!
Who might like these? Those that like tinted balms, subtle colour or are scared of too intense colour.
The Bottom Line - More of a tinted balm than a lipstick - amazing!
What do you think, will you be getting any? Personally I really like them, infact if I remember correctly they made it into my top picks for 2012! Which is saying something! Anyway thankyou all so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks, H :)
