I was a little late to the party with this new BB Cream - not too late though! Everyone and their mum seems to be coming out with BB Creams at the moment - talking of that Superdrug have just released one too, first impressions are good! But back to this one, it is also available from Superdug but also MUA's website for just £4. Hope you enjoy the review :)
As always I've included a summary at the end :)
The Basics
Like a lot of the BB Creams available on the market in the UK at the moment this comes in an easy to use squeezy tube - nothing too exciting there! Inside it has a pretty average 30ml of product and is available in 3 different shades - light, medium and dark. It also claims to prime, smooth and conceal - but I'll tell you opinions on that in the review, I can't be giving you spoilers here! I was slightly disappointed that this had no SPF or other claims for things to improve my skin which in my head is the main idea of a BB Cream!
The Claims - My Thoughts!
The Claims - 'A multi-functional formula that works wonders to prime and protect whilst conceals to even out skin tone for a brighter, smoother complexion,' - the tube.
My Thoughts - It does even out my skin tone, but I did find a bit of concealer came in handy! And my skin did have a nicer complexion to it - although you could tell I had something on it!
The Review
I've debated for a while on which direction to take this review as I find it to be more like a foundation than a BB Cream. But saying that it is an alright foundation - especially for the price, it just seems like MakeUp Academy were trying to jump on the band wagon with this. It has a medium matte coverage and quite a thick consistency - so more like a foundation than a BB Cream. I find the wear is about average, so I will get a bit oily by the afternoon - but that's my skin! And as for the colour, it's a good match for me and I've had no problem with oxidising!
Below I'm wearing the MUA BB Cream
The Good - cheap, didn't dry my skin or oxidise, 30ml product.
The Not so Good - More of a foundation than BB Cream to me, no SPF.
Would I repurchase? Probably not, sorry MUA!! Love all your other stuff though!
Who might like it? Those looking for a cheap everyday foundation.
The Bottom Line - I'm not overly convinced on this as a BB Cream, but an alright foundation for the price.
I feel this review has been a little negative, but this BB Cream doesn't have an SPF and has the texture of a foundation. In my experience BB Creams tend to feel more like moisturizers! I do get the feeling MUA wanted to follow the trend! But nonetheless this is actually a pretty decent foundation for £4. So not all bad news! But anyway I hope you found this review helpful - more MUA coming up soon! Thanks for stopping by, H :)
