AKA What's in my travel make-up bag! As those of you who follow me on Twitter may know I went away for the night last weekend and thought some of you might be interested to see what I took with me! I think a girls (and boys!) make-up bag contents says a lot about their beauty habits. The products they find essential and can't do without as well as the ones that are reliable and easy to use on the go. But that aside I hope you enjoy reading this :)
The Brushes!
So only being away for a night I decided I didn't need a lot of brushes - yes I was sensible with my packing this time! So just took an eyeshadow brush that can at a push be used to blend (ELF Studio Eyeshadow 'C' Brush). And a small brush to highlight my browbone (Ecotools Shade Brush) - an essential in my routine! I also took a big bronzing brush - the Ecotools one, I do have the retractable one, but it's not as good so stayed at home! I then also took an ELF Studio Blush Brush, which I probably didn't need as the Ecotools Bronzing Brush is alright for blush!
Sleek Au Naturel Palette
This is the only eyeshadow I took with me as I didn't need more for a night! I chose something neutral as it's easier to apply without too much thought and goes with everything. It also has highlight and defining shades, so a good all rounder and a reasonable sized mirror incase I needed it.
ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder
As you can see from the picture I love this bronzer! I use it most days to contour with, but it's also great for travel having a basic blush shade in it as well, which goes with most things. Will definitely be repurchasing!
17 BB Blemish Balm
I didn't wanna fuss around with taking foundation/primer etc so took a BB Cream. This BB Cream is basically a tinted moisturizer with a better coverage and my favourite one to use for some quick coverage. Infact I haven't got much left in my tube - a definite sign I love it!
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
I didn't take a face primer, but an eye one I can't do without and Too Faced Shadow Insurance is my favourite so it came! I must say the ELF Eyelid Primer is almost as good and what I'll be using once this tube has run out (I got it as part of a set).
Burts Bees Thoroughly Therapeutic Hand Cream
It's not make-up I know, but I can't be without my hand cream and it worked it's way into my make-up bag and so into my post here! This one I haven't had for long, but so far I really like it. I have a smaller 20ml size which came as part of a set, so was a great choice to take away with me!
17 Peep Show Mascara
This is one of my favourite mascaras giving some volume and length, making my lashes look nice with minimal effort. I have other favourites too, but this is the one that made it into the bag!
MakeUp Academy Eyebrow Pencil - Blonde
For me this is an absolute must have item, if I could only wear one make-up product it would be a brow product! I use it pretty much everyday and would repurchase it over and over again. For a trip away a pencils a great option for the brows and it's quick and easy to use whilst taking up a minimal amount of room.
No7 Metallic Eyes Pencil - Bronze
Love these pencils formula, they always do great value sets around Christmas time, so fingers crossed we'll get some more this year! I chose this particular shade as it's just a really nice colour and has some good staying power as well. In hindsight a simple black probably would have been nicer.
17 Berry Crush Lip Stain - Cherry Berry
This one I took incase I felt the urge for some lip colour, but also as I'm currently reviewing them so wanted to do some testing. I have my review ready, but just need to take a couple more pictures, so hopefully will get one up in the next day or two so stay tuned for that!
And that's what I took with me - A lot of 17 and ELF apparently! What kinda thing do you like to take away with you? I'm always curious to hear everyone else travel products! Yes I'm nosey haha! But anyway thanks for stopping by and if you have any questions on anything mentioned then don't hesitate to ask me, H :)

Hi Hannah! Is it the regular ELF primer or the mineral one that you recommend? Can you believe I have never used an eyelid primer before? Not the silicone-type ones anyhow. I normally just apply some concealer or foundation and powder on top, or sometimes nothing at all. I don't have oily lids though, so powder shadow tends to stay put on me. Yet I wonder if it would look better and last longer with an eyelid primer...
ReplyDeleteIt's just the regular £1.50 one, I've never tried the mineral one, I do wonder if I should sometimes! I wouldn't say primer is essential if you don't have problems with creasing, but it can make the colour look better and fade a little less. It can also be easier to blend over a primer than bare skin. Hope that helped! And the Lip Stain review should be up tomorrow!
Deletefab, thanks Hannah!! I saw the ecotools brush in boots today, might buy it after reading ur review...xx
DeleteThey're fab brushes, I use them so much! Hope you enjoy them if you get them :)
