Review: ELF Mineral Foundation - A Favourite!

Hello everyone! I hope your days going really well today and you're not feeling ill after eating too much chocolate if you celebrate Easter! Today I'm going to be reviewing another foundation, this one a firm favourite for at least the last 6 months. So I thought it was about time I shared a review with you all. The picture showing it on is quite old, but I really loved the rest of my make-up so couldn't resist using it, sorry! Anyway this is available from ELF for £3.50.

As always I've included a summary at the end :)

The Basics
A the name suggests this is a mineral based foundation, coming in a powder form. Being a mineral foundation it has no parabens, preservatives or chemical dyes and also has an SPF15. It comes in a nice screw top pot with a sifter inside. It doesn't let out too much product which can both be good and annoying!  Inside it has 2.84g of product, which doesn't sound a lot, but I've used it pretty much every day for 6/7 months and still have some left. As for colour variety there is 13 shades - I have Fair.

What do I think?
This has a really nice natural finish, you can barely even tell that you've got it on. But it evens everything out, whilst still having a light coverage. And because of the light coverage I don't find it enough for my skin, which brings me around to what I actually use this for! I actually use it as a loose powder over foundation. It is an absolutely brilliant powder, I'd say about 9/10 of my FOTD's I've worn this - that's saying something! I do find that you'll need to touch up mid afternoon as oil can show through, but I love this for how it looks in the first 5 or so hours. PS I use the Ecotools Bronzing Brush to apply it!

Below I am wearing the ELF Mineral Foundation as a powder over my Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation.

FOTD

The Good - cheap, lasts a very reasonable amount of time, natural finish, seems to be a reasonable colour choice, SPF15.

The Not so Good - Bit to sheer to wear as a foundation unless you have good skin, sifter can be a bit annoying - hard to get it out at first/near the end.

Would I repurchase? 100% yes! I really need to order a new one! I even got my mum one too!

Who might like it? Works well if your looking for a cheap loose powder. Has a really nice natural finish for those that like minimal make-up too!

The Bottom Line -  I don't personally find it has enough coverage to be a foundation, but it's my favourite powder.

I don't know why it took me so long to write this review, especially seeing as one of my everyday staple products! I think I just see it as a routine item not a review item. But whichever I really love it, but if you have any questions then don't hesitate to ask me. Thanks for stopping by, H :)

  1. Great review! I was actually having my eyes on this whether to buy the ELF foundation or save up for the Bare Minerals foundation.
Have you tried the Bare Minerals foundation?

    1. I've never tried the Bare Minerals one, sorry! I've heard it has a better coverage though? You could try the ELF one if it seems you're thing and then if you don't like it save for the Bare Minerals one?

  4. I love to use mineral foundation whenever I make up. The mineral foundation will help my skin become clearer so the makeup will be more natural
